My money's on a tower defense game with QTE DLC. "This time, instead of attacking Dracula's Castle...the player should...DEFEND it! Brilliant!"

And it's Lords of Shadow.

Could you elaborate?

Yeah man, don't leave us hanging.

Sorry man!

I messaged Nagumo and told her why I think something will happen.

But it's really nothing more than a good hunch.

It's more just a sense of the winds changing at Konami. Clearly with this game they are still working on console software. And no, it doesn't look great, but it's something at least.

And Ayami Kojima telling me that Konami has said they will not interfere with the release of Lecarde Chronicles 2 makes me feel that they do care about the CV fan base after all. And whether or not they plan to make another 2dvania themselves, they are choosing to let the fans have one by not cancelling LC2. We were lucky to have someone they know contact them on our behalf.

Thats all I can really say!

They could always try to s** for B**** S****** which would leave 2dvania fans somewhat disgruntled if nothing else.

Oh I don't think you need to worry about that. They know what they're doing legally with Bloodstained.

Well, it doesn't help matters that they'd pretty obviously given up trying to tell a coherent story by TPP.

I mean, look at how they handled the "Big Boss Becomes A Villain" Arc:

Each game has tried to outdo the previous one as "the definitive explanation of plot" that eventually the snowball of plot twists was crushed under its own weight.

Hence nanomachine zombies.

How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Yeah that white sheet says it all about what last few MGS games were about. I'm still waiting for a game that brings about the creation of Outer Haven, Not another Mother Base.

15 minutes of gameplay footage. Looks like a mixture of MGSV and Peace Walker, with elements of MGS3 thrown in for good measure. Actually looks kind of fun.

I also remember how I once talked to my brother about how a zombie-survival game would be cool with MGSV's gameplay. Kinda weird how it's actually happening, but whether or not it actually is good remains to be seen. Thoughts?

Metal Gear is dead, just like the possible zombies in this game. Let it go Konami, let it go. Focus on your other IP's you've long left dormant.

I'm willing to give it a chance...it seems like it's so bizarre it could work.

But the cynic in me is thinking that this is Konami just spit-balling ideas to keep one of their flagship series out of limbo, and with a dying gaming trend at that. (Wait...are zombies still popular? I'm assuming that zombies hit their saturation point a long time ago, but...I don't know.)

Well, this year, we got (and upcoming):
-Metal Gear: Survive
-Resident Evil 7 (probably zombies?)
-Dead Rising 4
-Dead Rising Remastered Collection
-Dead Island 2 (supposedly this year?)
-Days Gone
-The Walking Dead: Season Three
-State of Decay 2

...soooo I'd say that zombies are still going strong, I guess. How much was there in 2015?

The game looks pretty good though. Konami confirmed it won't be full-price at release, so I'm guessing somewhere in the $30-40 USD range. Hopefully more toward the 30 and not the 40.

Yeah, I guess there will always be zombie games no matter what...I know the entertainment industry as a whole went crazy with them for a good several years.

Zombies... they never stay dead.  No matter how many times you try and kill them, they just keep coming.
With that, is Metal Gear officially a franchise zombie now, or has it been like that for a while?
