Blehh.

I'd rather play as Richter again. These sound like the lamest unlockables since SoTN.
If I forgot "everything I knew about Castlevania" I certainly wouldn't be excited about a new one coming out now would I?

Having Richter as an extra mode would be such a waste, not to mention how whored out he's gotten. It wouldn't even make sense to have him.

Suikoden Tierkreis better come to Europe, or else....!

Anyway, Richter didn't make much sense in PoR either, so I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up in OoE (where he's at least mentioned in the storyline, is he not?).
But yeah, I'm sooo sick of him. He has that ancient sprite too, still.

In case you don't know, there is a new trailer on gamespot.com.  Well, it's not really new per se. It simply seems to be a minute long combination of the first two trailers with a remixed version of the music from the first trailer.

Tierkreis... that name made me lulz.

Btw, that iron golem isn't a good levelling spot. The best one are the four bugbears right before Aguni. Always kill them with one hit (the electro-lance's special attack, or Aguni work good for example) reenter, repeat.

And I shure hope they make Albus mode.

That's kind of my point; I'd rather play a pointless and uninvolving run-through with Richter than a hard mode or higher level cap mode. I was pointing out that even the crappy unlockables in previous games (Sisters mode being one of the worst examples) are more interesting than what we're seeing about this game's easter eggs.

I totally agree with all of you that Richters sort of cameo-role in Portrait was kind of weird. And having him in Order of Ecclesia would just make him even more worn out.

However, I do think that it would make sence to have him in this game since the game takes place after the events in Symphony of The Night. But with that said, I also doubt that he will be in the game.

It wouldn't make sense to have Richter. It takes place after the events of SotN, but not right after. This game takes place after the Belmonts have disappeared until 1999. No returning characters should be in other than Dracula and Death, especially not Richter and Alucard.

It's kinda obvious that the game will have another mode besides Hard Mode. Every other game with Hard Mode has had a extra character mode. They usually never reveal the extra character modes anyway. The only exception was Richter in a PoR trailer.

What does that have to do with IGA changing the timeline? All he did was retcon a few games anyway.

They could throw in another secret mode, but at this point in PoR's development cycle, we already knew about Richter, sisters, and Old Axe Armor mode. Of course that was all courtesy of PORTRAITofRUIN

I'm sure PORTRAITofRUIN would say that they aren't any new modes then. She's just... like you said, MIA atm.

it would make more sense than for example portrait which brought back the zombies of richter and maria back after 100 years.

sure, one could explain "but, it wasn't really richter!" and yes, it wasn't him during the whip battle. but that was in another dimension, which the memory of the whip more than likely couldn't leave, not even being real.

and then, where did maria come from? she never used the whip, so it couldn't remember her. the extra modes make no sense story wise, they're just there.

unless ooe happens during bram stoker's, richter and maria should still be alive somewhere, old or not depending from when does the game happen unless they got killed john style, so their mode could always be a possibility, even if like portrait's "for the lulz" mode.
