The developers made it official that the N64 games are non-canon, and Bloodlines & everything else is. Why is this still being debated?

On a side note, the painting stages were fucking awesome. Can't think of one I didn't enjoy (discluding the lame rehashes at the end of the game)

The only painting stage theme I really liked was the cityscapes. Beautiful art themes and setting, and the second one featured a fantastic remix of one of my favorite Bloodlines tunes. The pyramid levels had underwhelming music and the enemy placement was predicatable. The Forest of Doom and the Academy had nice moody effects but it had too many flat rooms.

The war/circus themed levels were very interesting and kept my attention, but the music gets repetitive by second loop. The design also repeats itself in a mirrored way. But the crazy up and down and all around platforming is something I'd like to see more of...

...kinda crazy in an inverted castle kind of way.

I never said IGA ruined the timeline. I actually think he's doing a pretty good job at tying up the loose ends. I only think that removing games from the timeline is stupid. Your right that CotM is a stand-alone title but the 64 games are not. Because if they where non-canon you could also consider Bloodlines and PoR as non-canon because the Belmonts make no appearance.(not counting the Richter cameo as the whip's memory)If these games don't conflict with canon (like Legends)just leave them alone. You could also say it's a game so who cares? But I'm just obsessed with castlevania so don't mind me.  :P

As far as Bloodlines and PoR goes, both games state that the Morris family are related to the Belmonts. The Belmonts don't *have* to make an appearance because their bloodline already technically is. It may be the weaker portion, but the Morris family is still related to them.

I was suppose to say something profound here. I don't 'do' profound so much as ramble so...whatever. Here lies text. Congratulations for reading it.  You were as bored as I am. Seriously, stop reading, you can't be that bored.  Still here? Really?  You officially are my new favorite person and now are owed one internet cookie. Don't eat it though, it gives you bad gas.

I liked the Circus themed stage but the second time around, I was just kinda...annoyed. XD  Though I did like the Medusa fight. Otherwise, while the stages repeated the second time and I was disappointed, it wasn't all that bad.

Thankyou.

More of an interview of IGA and the series than the game.

But it's fucking funny he says he's pissed off at himself about the 3D games. Lol. At least he understands that much. That said I'd rather he just give up trying and hand the job over to someone else for the 3D game.

The strange thing is, this heavily denies the possibility that the Wii-connectivity in OoE is for an actual new Wii title. That idea is looking pretty hopeless now. IGA never liked the Wii anyway.

(YeahX is going to be disappointed)

So some new info on IGA though.

Not any new info for the new games, from this interview, but at least IGA has accepted he's failure over the 3D castlevania games.

Pretty much every interview he's done since Curse came out in 2005 has contained an admission of how lame the 3D games have been.

If I remember correctly they mentioned in the opening of castlevania 64 that Reinhart also was a Belmont descendant.

IGA is pissed off --at himself!

hahahahahaahaa!

priceless.

Notice however that he doesn't make a commitment to any console at this point...  Strange.  Either he's hiding something or --Castlevania Judgement is truly in its infancy.  He's clearly not excited about the Wii, but I wouldn't be surprised if his bosses are pressuring him to develop for the system anyway.  It almost fits his response --well the interpreter's response anyway...
