Just because it is short? I play through Metroid: Zero Mission in 50 minutes, it's still one of my favourites.

No, it's not JUST becuase it's short. So was Aria of Sorrow, and I've beaten it about 12 times. The character designs were absolutely horrendous! They look like Dragon Ball Z, and everyone is cross-eyed. Also, RPG's are known for good storylines, and this had one of the worst storylines I've ever had the misfortune of playing through! I suppose they did their best with a game with seven levels, but I really wish they could've put more thought into it. It was pretty bad.

I have played M:ZM and AoS, both hundreds of times.

I like Metroid Fusion better than Zero Mission, though Zero Mission WAS really good.

It shure IS great. It's very linear though. But the bosses are  really great.

I hate the giant spider boss. Those stupid things that look like car tires hurt, and once his head snaps off, it gets complicated. I actually haven't played in about three years! I need to go look for it...

LOI had more platforming than COD, but COD had a much larger world, better gameplay additions, better battle system and boss fights.  since Trevor was a bonus unlockable, his whip moveset wasn't as deep as Leon's,
as its shown that they focused more on Hector.

when making a 3-D game, IGA shouldn't forget to make sure
the level design is varied like the 2-D ones,  with
lots of platforming, puzzles, traps, secrets, etc. etc.

but overall, CoD was a great improvement over LOI.

One thing I absolutely hate about people saying about LOI, is that the castle design wasn't that Varied. With the exception of Portrait of ruin, the castles in the GBA and DS games all have a similar layout of "long hallway, chasm or giant open space with lots of tiny platforms" I'd love to see one of the Non-linear games implementing the metroid exploration, but with Castlevania level design.

pork was faulty of that as well, even more so because it had tiny floating platforms that weren't even parts of the background.

sotn and hod were the only 2d metrovanias to have non square rooms (as in, if you look at the minimap.

It annoys me when games have the same room design. For instance, Harmony of Dissonance consisted of long rooms, long hallways, and tall elevator rooms. I think that's another thing I prefer about 3D Castlevania titles. Every room was different with unique obstacles.

Elegant intro, neat menu, and impressive animations for Shanoa, but that's it.

The level design and music is failing to impress.

Thank you! It looks pretty good, I like the title screen... music is so-so, not really fitting, but decent... everything else: blah, not really too interesting.
