Also, the "unimpressive" boss is also the first one. That's like being upset that Creaking Skull was too easy.

Anybody else notice that one picture in the caverns with that horse monster? That monster was one of the original monster designs that were made for DoS, but didn't make it into the actual game as monsters. You could see that design in the "secret area" in the Japanese DoS website.

The boss fight didn't impress me, and neither did the music, but I liked the Monestary backgrounds a lot.

I agree though, the screenshots are by far the fruit of this update. Some of those areas look orgasmic. That skull area? FRAK YEAH.

I agree. Some of the areas still look bad(that purple-looking dungeon and the cavern area with the horse), but others like the skull catacombs look up to SotN caliber, IMO. Love the details in that skull boss room. Definately inspired by the Sedlec Ossuary:

I wonder who that aquatic boss is? She looks like, in appearance, what an Undine looks like in most JRPGs.

Maybe the music it isn't good, but after looking at all the pictures, all i can say is that these are the best graphics that i have ever seen for a new castlevania game. Also have you seen the story video? It has voice over and very nice music. After these news, i'm sure that this new castlevania will turn to be awesome!!!!

Unfortunately, my computer sucks, and refused to load when I tried watching the videos, but the screenshots look really good. Undine needs to return to the Mana series!

I agree- I have mixed feelings about this media so far. ALL of the screens look good, but only a few videos impressed me- namely, the storyline vid and the intro. I like the voice acting, and the music is pretty sophisticated for the DS, but as soon as you enter the Monastery it becomes pretty bland and uninteresting. Not BAD, mind you, but just not up to par with Castlevania standards. I hope it's just one "meh" song in a collection of great music. Every Castlevania game has it's ups and downs with music.

ugh, I hate shanoa's sprite. What's with this giant black outline she has? Reminds me of Julius from DoS. the story sounds ridiculous. So far I'm not too impressed. but mainly.. ugh, that sprite.
