Last night while I was at work I started thinking of reasons why the Belmonts couldn't use the whip after Richter. Of course, we all know the real reason is because Iga sucks as a story teller and used it as a cop out to make a sequel to Bloodlines but, for the sake of my thread, let's forget that for a minute. Anyway, my idea? What if Richter's child was conceived with the Succubus while he was under Shaft's spell? Because of this, the bloodline was poisoned and took almost 200 years to purify.

However, I'm sure that, if we even ever do get an explanation, it'll be some generic mumbo jumbo stating that the reasoning is because Richter was cursed by Shaft, even though Simon and Solieyu were both cursed by Dracula, yet were still able to use the whip.

He really does anger me. He has destroyed Castlevania's story for me. He made it a mockery. Anyway, this thread isn't about who and who doesn't like Iga. Does anybody else have any decent ideas why the Belmonts lost the ability to wield the Vampire Killer, story wise?

I'd say it's more because of the fact that he was so easily controlled by Shaft, thus proving that he and his bloodline were just not strong enough, and that the power needed to be sealed in order to... errr... recharge?

For a guy who's supposed to be the Supreme Vampire Hunter amongst all others, and undefeatable, Richter easily succumbed to Shaft's mind control.  This might've had something to do with it.

The force has a great effect on the weak-minded... or something.

New IGA interview and OoE states Richter Belmont went missing (again) along with the whip.
A wild Ralph appears.

Yeah, seemingly in Order of Ecclesia, Richter goes missing(not sure when THIS takes place, as the first account of Richter actually "gone missing" happens a year before SotN, though this seems to take place AFTER SotN, meaning Richter went missing AGAIN). Yeah, with Richter gone(as is the Vampire Killer), evil's taking the land back. The Order of Ecclesia is started to, I guess, prime the most magically powerful people in the world so they could battle the forces of darkness in the absence of a Belmont.

I hope this explains a few things:

1. What happened to Richter? Why did he disappear?

2. When will the Morris clan step into picture?

3. Will this "Order of Ecclesia" disappear, or eventually have some role in the final battle against Dracula in 1999?

Sigh, Iga sure loves to piss on Richter. And I hope that this game actually advance the story line unlike Curse of Darkness, Dawn of Sorrow, and Portrait of Ruin.

I mean make the games actually have a reason. Have the story progress. There was no reason for CoD, DoS, or PoR to exist in the first place. They were basically side stories.

When did Richter become such a pussy? That is definitely weak storytelling. You'd think Maria would be there for him and keep him under control. Unless Richter goes the way of world fame and wanders the planet from bar to bar sleeping with ho-bags and downspiraling into inescapable depression. Thus he gets so drunk one night that he just goes apeshit and starts referring to himself in the mirror as "Wendel".

No seriously, Richter calls himself a Belmont?! Man, I thought he was cool.... 'til now.

So, you're saying that in this second wandering (goddamn this is a stretch), that he falls under the spell of a succubus, dies, but managed to impregnate her, and the succubus somehow had his human offspring.

No offense, Thomas, but that's no better than IGA's storytelling at all.

1) I don't think succubi can get pregnate (they are said to impregnate human women though (by collecting the essence of the man), thus creating a surrogate mother, but that'd require too much explanation, or assumption for IGA to handle)

2) Succubi suitors die on impact, (or even entry XD)

3) Castlevania's description that they "invade men's" dreams, is just a euphemism in place of the fact they kill by having sex with them. Although some say the desire for them arises from dreams. It's really all just an excuse as to why men lust after girls, and a church's little tale about why they shouldn't.

Most ideas for any demon was started at the behest of the church's desire to have control over their subjects and to force religious barriers between what they considered sin, but what actually just turns out to be human instinct.
