But seriously the game is shit and has nothing to do with castlevania except having the castlevania name affixed to it which is a damned shame. It should have been a new game entirely not something with the title castlevania. I mean they do have the right to make new games similar to their other games with a different name on them since they came up with all the ideas anyhow and it would have prevented pissing of castlevania fans as well so what would have been wrong with doing that? Oh right a new game wouldn't have brought in the big bucks at release as it wouldn't have the immense fanbase the castlevania name carries around with it. Sorry I forgot this all comes down to money at the end of the day.

The last several titles on console have been awful. PS2 had 2 of the worst castlevania games ever and the douchebag behind them claimed that the N64 games were bad. Funny enough I actually enjoyed the N64 games quite a bit as compared to the PS2 games which made me wand to use the discs for clay pidgeons. And then there is judgement for the Wii which isn't really castlevania and there is this game which isn't castlevania and I have a feeling there will be more castlevania games that aren't really castlevania.

I don't mind the metroidvania games. I wouldn't mind a 3D game either but seriously they just keep pumping out garbage and expecting fans to snarf it right up. Sadly to many do and for pathetic reasons like "collecting" or "completion" or whatever. Stop supporting the crap games so they can start making good ones again already...

Not all of them were garbage at least each one felt different in more than one way unlike the metroidvanias and if this makes anysense we should stop supporting the metroidvania style. You talk about pumping out garbage with the 3d titles but what about regurgitating the same kind of gameplay/ and the almost copy past and half assed style of the metroidvanias(call me crazy but I recall some areas just being slighty modified in some of them and correct me if I am wrong anybody) have brought out?
