If it was from OCR, then there would be a techno-beat and some stock sound effects tossed in.

I really do think they ought to replace Aruajo. If they want great orchestral music, they should gun for Shadow of the Colossus's composer.

Aruajo is doing the soundtrack for LoS2, I wouldn't be surprised if the soundtrack is already done by now.

Plus the composer of Shadow of the Colossus is exclusive to Team Ico and is working on The Last Guardian, which is in the process of getting retooled with no signs of a release date anytime soon.

Why would they replace the winner of the most important Video Game Music Award in the World?

I said reprise I.E. an inclusion of the main motif  :P

Oh and it seems that Cox all but confirmed the sequel showing at E3 (via retweeets of course). I'm a happy Panda, but I would like to see it before June :(

Perhaps because the game was very divisive in the fanbase and recieved mixed reactions on different topics?
They want to know what parts of LoS people liked and what parts they didnt like as much.
Constructive criticizm, as it were.

So what? They made a decision on what direction the series should take off, so now why are they backing off?

The few hardcore CV  fans on here that like LoS say hi. Please dont make such assumptions as "all" Hardcore fans.

  There are always exceptions.

Do we? it seems, again, pretty split if you ask me.

Count how many active users have this forum and then count, how many of them have the same passion for LoS, as you do.

LoS while not my perfect CV vision, is pretty close in terms of quality and gameplay.

Quality is fine with me, but can you tell me how exactly is close in terms of game play?

If it were just another SoTN clone or something like CVHD, THEN we could consider the series dead.

I don't support SOTN clone ideas, but neither i support the copy paste from almost every action game, put it together and vouala, we have the new Castlevania game. At least if you are going to copy something, do it right. What i mean? SOTN copied the exploration style from super metroid, but it just didn't only copy it, it was also improved it. LoS, copied the elements from other games and didn't get to the trouble to improve them, so they would applied as something refreshing.

And the for the fanbase, it was Tuesday...

The fanbase can survive without you i'm sure. If you want to just quit the fanbase because you didnt like a direction theyve gone in and wont tough it out, then you are not a true fan, who sticks with their fandom through thick and thin, through good and bad.

Alas, if the companies and fanbase, they couldn't survive without me. You can't call me that i'm not a true fan, when companies sold me out for money, by turning some serious video games to saturday morning cartoons. Silent hill up to 3, was fine for me. After that, it just became boring. Nothing new to offer, so why bother with it and waste time and money? The same goes for final fantasy. Every time they make a new game, i hope that this time they will get it right, so i will join back, only to find my self getting disappointed.

Dunno, why would they replace the producer who won 5 of IGN's Game of the Month Awards and four of Electronic Gaming Monthly's Gold Awards?

because
A) They want to make a better LoS 2, and since this was their first attempt at CV, they want to know what the fans want i the sequel now that they have gotten a taste of what they can do,

B) The game was very mixed in opinion and therefore they wish to know what parts were the more divisive ones.

I dont see how hard that is to understand.

Not every single CV fan exists on this forum you know. They also exist on OTHER gaming websites. And all because they are not on the CVD doesnt mean they are not CV fans.

I liked the gameplay. What else?
The combat felt heavy and satisfying, and the combos and special moves felt fun to use.
could have used some more platforming for sure, but I was satisfied with what was presented. No game is perfect. I especially like the wall grappling with the whip. I could do without the QTE's, but they didnt get in my way too often.

That's your opinion though. In my opinion, It was much better than GoW, and the TiTan Battles were fun to me, I loved the grand scale feel of them. the Titan in Agharta being my favorite.

IGN monthly awards and International Association of Film and Music Critics Yearly Awards don't fall in the same category, at all.

Arguments seem to lack these days.

That's why I really don't get you, Ahasverus. I like Lords, yet you can't even stand the critiscm of any aspect to it, no matter how obvious or widely-agreed upon. You just immediately go in and try to be as condescending and sarcastic as possible. Amazingly, you make people who actually like the game you defend so intensely actually start to resent that very same game because you can't acknowledge any fault. I can see the good and bad with all my favorite Castlevania games. I kind of feel bad calling you out like this, because I think you're younger than me, but damn. Tone it down a little.

To quote a bad game, let us have faith in the morrow!

All awards have about the same credibility; near zero. If they handed Araujo a VIDEO GAME music award, it proves how capable they are at identifying appropriate video game music. In this case, not at all capable.

can anyone even imagine lords of shadow without arujaos work? everything he did for lords of shadow fit perfectly. the only problem with the soundtrack was that there was not enough tracks period.

That's really the only problem with the LoS soundtrack. they reused the themes way too much as "mood/atmosphere" pieces, but should probably have had a few more tracks there.

Also I love hearing the fucking trailer theme for every plot-important boss fight.

LoS's OST really needs two things- more music period, and more pipe organ.

All awards have about the same credibility; near zero. If they handed Araujo a VIDEO GAME music award, it proves how capable they are at identifying appropriate video game music. In this case, not at all capable.

This was sort of my thought. Listening to people rave about the OST, you'd think orchestral music was just invented. Don't get me wrong... I love classical music, but I don't exactly love the LoS OST (well, there are a few pretty good themes in there).

I only asked, because of this: Mercury steam, seems than acknowledges it's flaws and tries to improve them, unlike some people here who are blind by their ego and they can't acknowledge anything.

Not every single CV fan exists on this forum you know. They also exist on OTHER gaming websites. And all because they are not on the CVD doesnt mean they are not CV fans.

Yeah, i know many other castlevania forums and what is going on there, but i only asked you about CDF.

That's your opinion, because mine is different. Every whipping or combo, was remind me GoW.

There are billions of fans worldwide. you leaving the fanbase would only be your loss.

Not really, since these days, companies seem to not care about fans, but only money. I really miss the old days, where games were simple.

If I get told one more time that I can't see beyond LoS faults, I'll open a thread by myself telling all that I think it's WRONG about it. It's just that I don't wanna talk about that because
1- It was a first a attempt without a solid base so they kinda have the right to screw one thing or two
2- I think, that in the hypitethical case some developer is reading this, they should focus on their strenhgts, the mistakes are almost completely adressed on reviews.
3- I don't see LoS as much as what it IS but what it MEANS, and I really like that direction.

So yeah !
