That'd be hot. Dark Metamorphosis getting a sword out and sucking blood through it. Reminds me of Soul Reaver. I'm looking forward to this in any case. Been waiting for a nex gen CV since I bought me X360.

No way that's a new Belmont. Definately gotta be Alucard. His eyes glowed red for a second in the trailer...no human can do that.

I'm guessing this will take advantage of Alucard's vampiric urges and make you switch between good and evil or you are good but certain things in the game encourage the vampiric urges and you must stop them or something like that.

Two other thoughts

Shaft is still alive which might have set another orb around somewhere which makes Alucard look evil.

the 2nd

Alucard just turns evil at some period of time and takes his father's role as the substitute for the dark lord.

In the drama, he starts giving in to his vampiric urges. This must be based on that.

Much like Blade when he sometimes gives into his vampiric urge but thanks to his serum he won't have to do that.

Hmm... seems like IGA's got something in mind.

I hope this fills the plot holes to some of the sv history.

I wonder if ridding Alucard of the bloodlust has anything to do with the Belmonts loosing the ability to wield the VK. I'm thinking something like Alucard biting Richter, or Richter using his blood to seal away Alucard's bloodlust. Take the curse into himself, or something. IGA wasn't kidding when he said he would find some way to explain why the Belmont's have to forfeit their right to wield the VK until 1999. At the least, I thought he was going to approach it through a manga, but it looks like we're getting the real deal. I hope IGA pays this much attention to the 1999 events(whenever he decides to address it).

Richter tainted the whip while he was brainwashed.

To this point, that's still fan speculation. IGA never stated that as being a fact. It's an easy answer most of us came up with to explain the Belmont's giving the whip to the Morrises in the absense of a TRUE explaination.

The fact is, I believe it was in a PoR interview(from Nintendo Power), IGA stated that he planned to address WHY the Belmonts couldn't wield the VK in the future(the "future" being "sometime after the immediate time the interview was given and after PoR's release"). Because he said that, it's only more reason to believe there just might be something more in store to the whole deal.

It won't be the 1999 game because chances are, we'd be looking at Soma or Julius (or maybe even Hammer
