Definately the second choice. SotN sequel! Though if it's handled like a Zelda game, it could be awesomeness.

well, we can't blame Iga for not trying to get a hi resolution 2d game.  maybe it'll happen the next go-around?

If by "in the vein of 3D Zeldas" they mean "without flat-ass CoD hallways", I'm all over it.

not too long after Legacy of Darkness came out and while waiting for Resurrection to be released, I had a great next-generation Castlevania dream.  i remember being by a fence by some tombstones in a courtyard outside the Castle's front gate and marveling at the realistic graphics and atmosphere of the game and scanning my surroundings.  of course, this was a dream, so I was actually inside the game, more like as in Hack.slash.

but anyways, i've been hoping for a high resolution 3D Castlevania that stirs up wonder like that ever since then.  i hope this is that game.  the game needs to be slow in pace to get the right feeling, not adrenaline pumping like the PS2 games.  i don't think playing as Alucard would lend itself well to getting chills in a game, but I think playing as a trembling Cyril getting his first taste of the horrors of going up against Dracula's castle would.

Watching the trailer, reading the translations and most of the posts- I have yet to listen to the drama, I will have to check out the radio drama threads.

My guess and reasons.

-if the rado explains/negates this sorry!!

Alucard is evil- he goes ape shit...for the same reasons we have been given and shown-

Dracula- they killed Lisa b/c she was consorting with a Vampire-> this started Dracula/Hectors direct assults and war with mankind-and drove him to go beyond eternal living, into somehow getting himself a self-ressurection every 100years etc

Soma- killed his woman = he flips out and lets the soul of dracula consume him turning him into drac/the dark lord

soo...sorry Maria, your dead tehy crazy towns-folk are ganna burn your fine tight ass- that + mom flashbacks = pwn evil alucard

even more awsome would be it was a ruse, a cult used maria as a sacrafice to rez drac- piss alucard bring dad back = win

i would like to think that Maria could hold her own, but she didn't seem to do so well against Magnus in the audio drama.  maybe one of his goals is to kidnap her and offer her as a sacrifice?  when Shaft first captured Maria in Dracula X Chronicles, he was marvelled by her power.  i bet he did think what a great sacrifice she'd make.  but then again, he went after Richter next, not Maria.  guess it could be plan B

Maybe not. IGA is more than concerned about the suckness of those games. He talked more than once about his frustration with 3D, so he probably will be assisted this time. Besides, I'm sure Konami is wise enough to not allow IGA to make a bomb of a next gen 3D Castlevania game starring fan favorite Alucard.

Yeah. Symphony of the Night and Alucard are what put IGA on the map. If this one doesn't have a larger improvement of fan reception compared to LoI and CoD, it could be his downfall.

What makes you think that? Geez, I didn't think this game was going to get prejudged like this so much.
