He, he.. genius! In some aspects videogames are in similar evolutive stage than movies were at that time. In 10 years time we'll see today games as we see those old movies, ridiculously charming  ;D

That's actually a pretty cool idea. They did the same thing for the original Castlevania, horror movie/hollywood monsters for bosses.

Never thought I'd be the one to say this, but here it goes:

I'm not really looking forward to this game anymore for a few reasons, but one specific reason really. It's the fact that everything in this game looks so stock from the generic enemy designs, to the generic Hollywood style music. Where are the peeping eyes, mud men, skeleton bone throwers, axe lords, spear guards, sword lords, infinite spawning ghouls/zombies in a long corridor, lizard men? I could go on forever with this.

And the music. Where are my organs, and catchy tunes? Oh great Michiru Yamane, please deliver me from this sacrilege! Say what you want about IGA, but at least the man kept Castlevania to it's roots, and even payed homage to some other Konami games like Gradius (Vic Viper statues)

Of course, I will still buy this game because it says Castlevania on the box, but that's about it. I really hope that I'm wrong with all of this, but based on what I've seen so far, I'm not very hopeful at all. In my eyes, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia was the last Castlevania game.

^ Whatever.

Hmmm, so a twitter user noticed that "Dark Lord"'s skull in the trailer is similar to Cornell's, Zobek's and Gabriel's, so, he's also an ex-member of the brotherhood? If he's not one of the "Original members" that found God's mask and made themselves Lords of Shadow, why is he evil? or a better question, are the LOS evil? both Carmilla and you know who talk very "friendly" with gabe in the trailers and they don't look "shadowy" at all. However Claudia talks about "The Dark Lord" in the labyrinth video,so he's maybe a foe of the three LOS and want them dead.
And he's an old brotherhood member, so.... what if he's really Drac?? It's said that Gabriel is a descendant from the Cronqvist... what if he's Drac's son? Maybe as a node to the IGA saga they threw in the rumor about the Cronqvist to make a good relation between Gabriel and Drac but he's not a Cronqvist after all--- of he is who knows  :)

Im looking forward to this game for a few reasons, but one specific reason only really. It's the fact that everything in this game is diffrent from what I've seen in the Castlevania series. I applaud IGA for keeping the series upfloat for so long but even Stevie Wonder can see that he doesn't have the same compassion for the series like he once had.

Monsters are monsters no matter how generic they look so I got no problem with the monster's they've decided to go with and even then we still haven't seen all of the monsters in this game. So we might see a Medusa head, a axe armor, and a zombie in the game somewhere and even if they dont make it in the main game chances are they're saving the more familiar Castlevania monsters for the 2 big DLC's(yeah I know it sucks but oh well)

Yamane's gone from Konami, it's time to move on and even if she was avalible to do the soundtrack her style wont fit in this particular Castlevania game.(seriously I played her music to the recent video's of the game and it doesn't fit the mood of the game.)

I spent my last $65 to reserve it and I hope to get my money's worth unlike the last Castlevania game Harmony of Despair.

Haha.. And here I was hoping that you guys would try and convince me otherwise. I'm not one to settle for anything less than what I'm supposed to have, and so far from what I've seen things are looking very upsetting for me. At least Slogra is in the game (I hope so a least) It seems to me that the poster above me likes to just settle for things. Sorry, but after playing Castlevania games for 21 years, I expect something extraordinary, and not generic with all this current generation garbage floating around.

Now, I sit here listening to the Belmont's Revenge soundtrack, and Jorge's Youtube page filled with his various Castlevania remix tunes. As I listen more, and more I grow more angry at the fact that now my precious Castlevania has been plagued by the Hollywood demograph.

yes, is the best you can do, live with your old forgotten past, and be happy with it :)
But let us be happy with our present, calling LOS generic is like calling Castlevania 1 "Rubbish" or "wacky" or Belmont's revenge "bland". Don't mess with this one, don't like it, fine, but live with it.

Forgotten, huh? If it is forgotten, then I wouldn't be reminiscing about these sort of things, now would I? I'm sure a lot of other forum goers wouldn't be too happy about you calling the older Castlevania games "forgotten" Everything has a starting foundation, sonny boy. As for the rest of your post, I don't know what you're getting at.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to live with this new game. I still have a sliver of hope, but not very much considering this game is trying to please the mainstream crowd which are not very bright, or patient to begin with. As if the generic hollywood music wasn't mainstream enough.

As far as I'm concerned, this track alone kicks the crap out of anything presented to us in LoS so far.

Of course I am. It says Castlevania, and I still have hope. I'm not a total pessimist. I should also say that we've only seen a small portion of the game, so I could be massively mistaken on what everything I said previously. I hope that's the case.

exactly... dont bitch and complain about this and that if your still gonna buy the fuckin game anyway. Nobody gives a shit what you think or feel once the games paid for. Not even konami cares once youve forked over

As for the generic enemies and all that... what do you want? Theres only so much you can do. A skeleton looks like a fuckin skeleton regardless of what game its in or whos makin it. Same goes for every other creature real or fake thats ever been put in anythin. They can change the way they look but they still look like somethin else cause its all been done before. Now if they were tryin to pass off dragons as mermen or somethin like that you could complain... but they arent

Sure they dont look like the 2d sprite versions of the same creatures or whatever... wanna know why? Cause theyd look just as bland and generic and retarded if they based em off the sprites then ppl would bitch about that too. Like an Axe Knight for example... or Spear Guard... wtf do you want them to look like? Theyre suits of armor one has an axe one has a spear... Get as fancy as ya want but its still just a suit of armor... as long as one has an axe and one has a spear who gives a fuck?

Why get so defensive and start raging? If you didn't give a shit so much, why did you write that long, angry post toward me? I'm merely stating my concerns and gripes on what that has been seen so far. Quite an entertaining read, though. I nearly spit out my chocolate milk reading that.

It's always the same thing around here. Someone posts an opinion, people start raging all over the place. I didn't mean to piss people off, but wow!

Also, if I don't seen an Axe Lord in LoS, I'm coming to your crib.
