I wouldn't be against a 3DS MS Castlevania provided there are absolutely no QTEs or wall shimmying, as a 2D game with their graphical flare would be amazing.

If it were just another 3D game though, it'd be kinda pointless to not just put it on the PS360 again.

why would you say that? just because you dont like it, you mean?

I recall Cox stating he loves CV. He just doesnt want to make a long drawn out series like the original timeline.

When I play LOS I feel like they really love other games much more than Castlevania and they prefer take influence of other stuff instead this saga. All the atmosphere of the game make me think that they prefer LOTR style over Castlevania style because they like much more this saga, I really don't think that they love the series. I think the main reason why LOS ended being a decent game, is because Mercury Steam created the game that they want to, in the way that they think is better, and unfortunately thats not very Castlevanish.

Dunno, I'm pretty sure that they just don't love too much this series, Mercury Steam took the oportunity that Konami gave to them to make the game that they want to. I'm not saying that its a bad game though

MS Loves the series, they've worked on it for 3 years, delivered a 20hors game, are still making DLC and they already have a sequel in the works, I'm pretty sure they are not being pressed to do that  :P

Well, the castle part of the game seemed very CV like minus the traditional CV style music.  At least it seemed that way to me.  From my point of view, MS took a CV and incorporated influences from other series like LOTR.  Essentially, they tried to expand the CV universe.  I'm all for incorporating other things, but I was a little disappointed that it didn't feel like an actual CV game, but it's still a great game.  Let's just hope that Cox or someone else from that team is reading this thread and make the sequel will be more like a true CV game.

From day 1, Cox stated he wanted to radically depart from every preconception about Cv we had. He wanted to make his own Castlevania vision, much like IGA made his.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Well, he succeeded.  And, it's great!!!  It's different, but it's enjoyable.

For the most part IGA respected all the Castlevanias that come before him --and contributed substantially to the continuity of the existing series.  On the other hand, from day one, Cox told us to forget about all the Castlevanias that came before him --and contributed substantially to rewriting the CV bible beyond recognition (or at least he's the fall guy for those that did).  Quite frankly, I'm beginning to wonder if George Lucas could have done a worse job rebooting all this.

Well it looks as if the reason that the PS3 version of Reverie was released first was due to some "last minute issue".  Whatever that means.  You can read about it in the link posted below, if you're at all interested.

http://www.relyonhorror.com/latest-news/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-dlc-on-the-360-delayed-“due-to-a-last-minute-issue/

Not sure if it'll still be released sometime tonight for the 360, or I'll keep having to wait on into April.

Going to check XBL now, seeing as it's past 1am here on the west coast. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

DAMMIT!!

Check shortly after 1am, then again just now right before bed....STILL not eff'ing there! When I wake up tomorrow (later on today actually), it had BETTER freakin be there  >:(

This i completely agree with^^^

I may be the minority here but so far i'm not liking this new direction Cox is going with the series and i definitely do not want to see him taking over CV on the 3DS aswell.

I realize i may be jumping to conclusions to early since the LOS story still is not over but so far i'm not impressed at all.

As i've said before this new DLC will have to be pretty darn EPIC and CVish if it is to win me over.

Some may disagree but i think IGA should continue his CV games on the handhelds specifically the 3DS.

Cox and his team can keep the consoles (for now) but please do not just kill off the original CV storyline by having Cox take over the handheld's aswell.

Cox should have the console titles and IGA the handhelds. As long as the two timelines/"lores" aren't merged, everything's okay.

I think IGA and Cox have unique problems, but I seem to remember Cox saying that he doesn't want to be Mr. Castlevania. So it's not likely he's going to be the only guy making the games from now on; part of the series' charm is how it's a kind of "authorless" game, something whose whole comes from its many different entries.

The main things I'd like from Cox's next game is a more hearty return to Castlevania's horror roots and the Belmont-Dracula feud. For how dreary the plot of LoS was, there was a bit too much sun-shiny atmosphere. (Also a 2D XBLA game from MercurySteam would be godly)

I like the new direction LoS took the franchise. The original timeline lacked consistency, which was only made worse by FOUR of the games being retconned from the official timeline altogether. LoS is a fresh start from that mess.
Besides, as far as the original CV universe story goes, what else is there left to tell?
