Besides, as far as the original CV universe story goes, what else is there left to tell?

Well they're still some event's that haven't been covered yet(and may never will at this point.)

People still wanna see how the Demon Castle Wars went down in playable form, plus they wanna see how Julius was at his peak.(Me personally im glad the 1999 game hasn't been made, it wouldn't have live up to the hype.)

Also, the explanation on why the Belmont's went into hiding leaving the vampire Killer to filler characters.

And Mathias's transition to Dracula after the event's of LoI.

I think that's all the ground that has not been covered yet.

There's a 300 year gap between LoI & CVIII.

:o Not out yet? At this rate, 360 users will be getting Resurrection before Reverie.... Feel bad for ya.

Thanks :'(

Yeah, I'm at a point where I'm giving it till tomorrow, maybe the next day, and then Cox and Konami have lost a sale.  I'll just watch the vid on youtube and be done with it, I'm tired of waiting.  At this point it would probably be better just to do that, since there is absolutely NO WAY that it will live up to the hype I've built up in my mind by waiting this long, and after buying it will probably feel that I got ripped off.

I know its frustrating but it's better to have it delayed that delivered with some save-deleting glitch or something

There isnt much to say there. the Belmonts and Dracula Never met again since Leon until Trevor and CV3.

The obviously tracked Him down and relocated to Transylvania, but were eventually exiled because people feared their supernatural monster hunting power. They spent some time somewhere outside of TV, but when Drakkie acted up for the first time, After Lisa's death, Trevor returned to hunt him down.

The only event that hasn't been covered is the 1999DCW
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

IGA addressed these issues way back in '05

There's plenty of games they can put between 1094-1476, and the story is usually second to gameplay anyway so what's the big deal

Still I would like to see how Julius and "friends" actually do it.  It's one thing to know they did it, but knowing exactly how they did it changes things.  Like with Star Wars Episode III, we knew that Anikan becomes Darth Vader, but seeing how it happens changes how you see things.  It's the same with the Demon Castle War in CV.  We know it happened.  We know the aftermath.  But, we don't know exactly what happened and how they did it.

Hi. I´m new in the forums, but not in Castlevania Dungeon. I visit it since 2001, and is the first time I participate in the forums. Thanks...

From day 1, Cox stated he wanted to radically depart from every preconception about Cv we had. He wanted to make his own Castlevania vision, much like IGA made his.

I think the best way that Cox must made his own Castlevania vision, is not to include names that are representatives from recent IGA names (from Lament of Innocence, like Rinaldo or Bernhard family, for example). If just he name the hero with the last name be Belmont (and not with the "brilliant" idea of being a mountains lover), that had been better, but with Dracula instead of Satan, as main antagonist.

About Lords of Shadow, its a really good game. It´s have impressive graphics, lasting playtime, nice design, good music... but it´s NOT Castlevania. Only in name. In fact, if the game was just Lords of Shadow, i will love it as a video game. But the way Mercury Steam try to put Castlevania lore just in names, but not in other important things, personally I dislike. I love games like God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Prince of Persia. But seeing characteristic elements from that games in a Castlevania game, doesn´t fit at all, in my opinion. Finally, if Cox takes SCVIV like inspiration for LoS, I only see the whip use for grapling. ´Cause QTE, boss battles, platforming, puzzles, music, I can´t remember that elements from SCVIV.

But, this is just my humble opinion about Lords of Shadow.

Whats wrong with the Belmont name origin?

Thats something I can guarantee almost no games have ever done. have a guy with no name who grew up with clerics and shit, pick out his own name when he cones of age.

And Belmont is french for "Beautiful Mountain". So it fits.

Yes, that´s a good point. But I  not need to know a last name origin to understand the game´s history, speaking of LoS. (Or Luke Skywalker took that last name because he likes to walk in the sky?). If that was the case, Konami must tell us the Belmont origin a few years ago, before Cox invented that origin. I mean, I don´t like the use of the Belmont name in the protagonist, and in the end that hero becomes Dracula, something that in past years must be a crazy stuff, in Castlevania. In other words, I prefer a true Belmont family member, to fight with Dracula, like in old days (or old school days, if you prefer). I know that these are new days, but I prefer a classic storyline, than a plot twist like LoS. C´mon, a Belmont becomes Dracula? (And I know that Gabriel wasn´t a true Belmont, but a Cronqvist. But know that the hero I control in the whole game turns himself in the main antagonist in the Castlevania series, was so unnecesary twisty. Just to secure an obligate sequel? Uhm...).

Every surname has a beginning, and you would be surprised how stupid they are in real life, having Belmont for "Beautiful mountain" (Beau mont in french) is not bad, just a little anti-romantic if you think so, but not bad at all.

And I really hate when people say LoS is not a CV... seriously guys? U.U Never mind, it IS Castlevania now so, whatever :P

IGA needs to make that 1999 game.

It has to be the Castlevania launch title for the 3DS, no questions asked. If he has it all figured out and planned then he should go right ahead and make it.

I'm more than willing to give IGA the opportunity to make another Castlevania or Castleroid so we can finally have one of the biggest questions/events in the series cleared up for us.

Also like I've said countless times before, the spotlight needs to be put back on the Belmonts already. Julius is the man to do that.

Yeah, is a Castlevania game, because its have a fake Belmont, Carmilla, Laura, Olrox, Brauner, Cornell, Bernhard, Rinaldo, a whip, and Dracula (uh, I mean, Eu Sunt Dracul) in it. Excuse fot that :P).

If Mercury Steam makes a Castlevania with ALL the elements that our game series have in the past (pre-IGA, before you mention), and not only in names, I will call that game a pure Castlevania. I admit that last IGA games lacks from certain elements, in history, mainly. But when I play IGA games, I have more things to remember of classic CV games, like monsters, candles, hearts, ambience, MUSIC. But when I see LoS, I remember elements of modern games (that were very succesful), like God of War (QTE, camera angles, gameplay), Shadow of the Colussus (bosses gameplay), Prince of Persia (platforming), Hollywood movies, like LOTR or The Dark Khnight (music). I repeat, it´s not a bad game. It´s beautiful. But with more CV elements, would be great. Just my opinion.

Yeah because forests, swamps, ruins, cathedrals, monasteries, runed-giant monsters killed after climbing, barroque castles and wastelands have NEVER appeared in a CV before
