They should have done 2.5D plateforming segments, it would have been more 'classicvania'-styled.

Oh how my heart weeps over the fact that I spend so much of my time outdoors & away from my computer that I am unable to keep up with the endless discussions of an online forum and be the first to jump onto something the nanosecond it becomes public knowledge.

Haha, that was good, Tanatra.

To be fair, if the 3D platforming was free, then people would complain like they did with CV64 and LoD, which compared to LoS's pseudo-platforming, were awesome in that regard.  This thread would be full of complaints like "I missed that ledge and he didn't grab on" and "I couldn't move the camera to the right spot to make the jump" and the other myriad of similar problems having 'true' platforming would have.

But even with all of those problems, I still like that platforming over edge-shimmying.  Rappelling was cool though.

It was just about one of the very FIRST "nods" noticed. Its hard to see a giant boss fight like LoS has and NOT think "Shadow of the Colossus"
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Anyway, I think its imposible to have proper platforming having a fixed camera like LOS, its just doesn't work, the player must have control over the game.

Now that I think about it, the fixed camera is the cancer. It ruins the exploration, they try all the time to have those dramatic shots but thats makes the game confusing to explore, also make the game feel like is trying to copy GOW (they used it in the EXACTLY same way). And make the game feel super scripted, its almost like the game have to be played by itself

While the over use of shimmying can be a bit drab, I never had (or at least had very little) problems in making my jumps. Thought it was stupid though how much of a penalty you received from falling though.

I´m not defending MS at all, saying that maybe they look forward to a different manner of boss fight, than the 3d action/adventure standart. There are huge bosses in Bayonetta, Devil May Cry 4, God of War 3, Dante´s Inferno, for mention some, that are awesome, but only one game (that I played so far) has a distinctive boss fight: "Shadow of the Colossus". It´s really entartaining to fight the colossi, but it´s anoying some times. The good thing is that in LoS, you only fight an Ice Titan, a Rock Titan and Dracolich (did I forget one?). I can expect something:*********PRESUMABLE SPOILER**************

In other words, I think that MS is trying to emulate a not-so-recurrent form of fight a boss. I don´t remember other game that you fight a boss like in Shadow of the Colossus. Personally, to a Castlevania game I like to fight a boss like the aforementioned games. With QTE, or without them, but something unique to a CV game.

I loved the Dracolitch fight. dunno what it is, but something about it is awesome.

the rock titan is of course the most epic one, (the one in all the trailers,) but the Dracolitch was awesome. probably because it wasnt just another giant humanoid like the others.

I hated the titan fights.  Why not just fight them from platforms like the forgotten one in LoI and Legion in CoD?
