I have played nearly every single game in the series.

Apparently not enough.

What other Castlevania games had Vampires that were not bosses besides the N64 games? I have played nearly every single game in the series.

Ecclesia had Draculinas, and I guess the Lilith's from the Sorrow games could be considered Vampires as they do bite your neck and suck your blood.

No male vampires though. All the males are bosses, because...well...they're men.

That vampire looks like an Uruk-hai from Lord of the Rings with wings, but is still a good one.

Welcome back!  I've got to agree with your assessment on the vampire, but I love the confidence/strength it exudes, and the blood/gore aspect.  Almost demonic in nature.  Gabriel looks like he'll be up against it.

1up and E3.net currently list a dubious release date of 14-July-2010.

I think it's awesome that they have vampires that actually look like monsters. I mean I like the 'beautiful' vamps as well, but it's not see some really horrific looking monster types as well. All vamps don't have to be models.

I always thought vampires preferred beautiful young men and women, and so they would go out of their way to drink their blood. Then the prettyboys and prettygirls turn into vampires. Simple as that. Super model vampires make perfect sense to me.

HOWEVER; I think that vampires should have an ugly side that comes through when they're angry, hence Dracula's transformation.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I can totally see myself whipping that ugly vampires arse.

Apparently not enough.

I haven't played OoE (I didn't know about the Draculinas), and the Liliths/Succubi aren't vampires... So there is only one other game in the series besides CV64/LoD. Can't you at least attempt to be helpful in your posts?

his still means that Lords of Shadow is still one of the only games in the series to feature vampires as a regular enemy, and I hope that there is a variety (like in CV64 again). I like the new design, but more human vampires would definitely benefit the games.

New info from Twitter! Action of LoS will take place in eleventh century - in 1047!

So it is before Lament of Innocence. I think it will be a completely new timeline.

I think it will be a completely new timeline.

If Mercury Steam ever makes more than one Castlevania, that is. If the game is a commercial failure, I highly doubt Konami would give them another go. But who knows. If the series is outsourced to different game studios in the future, chances are there won't even be a "timeline" to speak of anymore, just Castlevania games that are vaguely connected to each other.

I agree.

Hmm... and after few years new Koji Igarashi will rise to connect all this mess together. xD

It is.

I know that Dave Cox was talking about it earlier, but there still was a room for some surprising connections with older games in the series. ;) I wasn't excluding this opportunity.

So no Simon belmont here :(
And... so no Dracula? Perhaps the bad one is Walter Bernhard... yes, is an new timeline, but perhaps it's attached to the cannon in names and places. Or perhaps it's not, and Dracula is already alive.
I wanted to see Simon :(

Everything comes full circle

I think it was quite the stretch to think Simon would be showing up. Not only did he say it was a new timeline, but Gabriel is the game's Belmont. Simon would have been superfluous.

Somebody posted on Ign's PS3 message board that the right analog stick will be used to control the whip. Was that really confirmed? I hope not. I can't even see how that would work.

There was speculation about it, I don't think there was confirmation.
