Quick question. What are the implications of Castlevania Lords of Shadow bearing similarity to a few games. What are people trying to say. Who cares? Video games are CONSTANTLY being influenced by their predecessors. Wont change the fact if its a good (or bad) game.

The creators of God of War have already said that they were inspired by classics such as Castlevania, so it's a case of "give and take" in this industry, much like in anything else in the entertainment industry.

The final boss in Dawn of Sorrow was ENORMOUS, as was Galamoth, and Eligor.
Eligor in particular was kind of a "titan" because you had to climb him and take out different parts of his body. I think people are nitpicking now cause they're bored, and have to find something to complain about. Fans of Final Fantasy are exactly like this, bcause they have to wait so long for their games, and they would rather pay for FF7 over and over and over, than have the series evolve.

LoS looks amazing so far.

I've just found this:
http://www.konami.com/e3/

It looks like we should check this address more often. :)

And everybody should go there and vote for Simon. Too bad his pic is Ayami Kojima's design though.

Hey Guys, here's something somewhat important about the plot that we found at Gamesmaster magazine (spanish).
The magazine had some tidbits about every vcharacter revealed, and, baah, just read what they say about Gabriel.

Quote
GABRIEL:He was found as a child at the staircases of a convent of the brotherhood. He doesn't know who his parents are, but it's suspected that he's a bastard son from the Cronqvist family. He chose the "Belmont" surname because of the beauty of mountains and forests surroinding his childhood memories

Mmmmm, what do you think? It's the Cronqvist a reference to the historical Cronqvist family (True Dracula's rival family) or does it have a deeper meaing? Does it have a conection to LOI canon??   :o

Everything comes full circle

That doesn't sound good. That might mean the "real Belmonts" don't exist.

Wait, so Belmont isn't his real name? That's really odd, does that mean there really isn't a true Belmont family?

LoS takes place before LoI...so maybe if Gabriel is a Cronqvist, then he could be Matthias' father or grandfather? Afterall, it was said in LoI that Matthias had a brilliant mind for combat strategy, etc. and Gabriel is a knight, so if they are related somehow that could explain how Matthias learned.

That said...if ANY of the above were to happen, then obviously it's a direct tie-in to LoI. Therefore the whole "reboot" and "non-canon" stuff goes out the window.

It's a reboot, they specifically said it has nothing do with Iga's timeline at all. That's just not going to change.

Yes, but if they tie it in to LoI with this Cronqvist bullshit, then obviously it has quite a lot to do with Iga's timeline.

They said they would make many references to Iga's timeline, but they would have nothing to do with that canon. One of the grave yards is named after Wygol village from OoE, expect more stuff like that. They're just nods toward the original timeline, nothing else.

Stuff like that is fine. But IMHO if they are going to do something fairly deep like having Gabriel be of the Cronqvist, not Belmont family, that's pretty significant and direct tie-in, not reference, to LoI.

Not really, they're just names. They're rewriting the entire story with familiar concepts.
