Names of places are one thing. Those are references and that's fine. Hell, I expect that. Names of people are a bit deeper though. IMHO, you can't really do a 100% reboot and claim to ignore the other timeline if you have a direct tie-in to it. Having Gabriel be part of the Cronqvist family is a direct tie-in to LoI, and a major one too since we know Matthias became Dracula. It's just kinda difficult for them to say "ignore everything about past CV games" and then throw this little detail in there as if it were to be overlooked. What's next, is Walter gonna be one of the bosses?  :D

Who says they can't? We're dealing with a timeline that Simon and Richter do not even exist in.

But technically they exist (or will exist) in the LoI timeline right? Well, if you directly tie in LoS to LoI, as making Gabirel a Cronqvist would, then it's not exactly a complete reboot IMHO.

.....

But LoI has nothing to do with this timeline because LoI is part of Iga's, which they have said has nothing to do with LoS's. They have nothing to do with each other, plain and simple. It's a reboot, there is going to be familiarity in this timeline that you would recognize from Iga's, they just can't throw away 25 years of work you know.

I'm just saying, expect to see someone named Grant Dynasty as an NPC or something, that's basically what you're going to see in LoS.

I understand what you're saying OSM...I'm just saying that it makes little sense to me to call it a complete reboot and pretend the other timeline dosen't exist if they do a major tie in like this. Location names or even NPC cameos are one thing but potentially deep backstory with your main characters is another.

If they don't want LoS to have anything to do with LoI, then why make Gabriel a Cronqvist? That automatically ties LoS and LoI together in a pretty significant way. That would mean Gabriel and Matthias are related somehow, either directly or ancestrally.

That's simple. It keeps a sense of familiarity to those who know the series, so then others getting into it can also jump in as well. They're not going to toss away 25 years of work, they have to do something with it.

Cox said in an interview for the Chapel that players could find a place for it in IGA's timeline but that in reality isn't supposed to be connected.

So I expect no Danasty or Dracula.

How can you call this a Castlevania game without Dracula? That's just absurd, he HAS to be in this game.

Why not? The game is called Castlevania is Japan and not Akumajou Dracula so he doesn't have to be in it. It would actually be refreshing for a change.

I just wanna know what on hell are the three Lords of Shadow so. I thought these races were owned by Dracula, Galamoth, and any other out there, but now I do not know.

Hmmm interesting development, it may shed some light on the "I have done, questionable things" line but who knows.

I figured they played a role in bringing Dracula into existence.

"Nodding" sounds very cheap. It's like occasionally throwing out pieces of meat to please those who want to see stuff from the old timeline.

I think it might make sense, so maybe if I am betting my money that one of these lords, is Death.

Oh, yea, Death, I wonder how he's going to play into this game. Same for Slogra and Gaibon, I keep thinking we're just going to get a 3d version of SCIV's ending, which I would be COMPLETELY ok with.

I wanna hear this theme while I fight the big three before Dracula (if he's in this)
