Mock image I made a while ago

NICE! I could see that working. Yep, add Drac and we have CV1 box art :)

So is October 19th the release date? Been seeing it around on the web (like Gamespot) and at Gamestop.

One thing everyone should know about Gamestop: They will pull release dates out of their assesust so they can push reserves. The day after Capcom announced Marvel Capcom 3, they made up a fake release date and printed out pictures of mock box art and plastered it all over their stores to get reserves.

I don't think they make up release dates: they just give a temporary one until the actual date is given or it's literally street dated. I highly doubt Donkey Country, Kirby, and Sonic Colors are all coming out on 12/31/2010. All the dates change once the actual release date is given. Though some of the employees are stupid: they're suppose to say that the date is 'subject to change' so customers are aware of well, just that. They had Zelda for 11/2 but I saw today (when looking at CV) it's now 3/11 of next year.

Yeah I would take Gamestops release dates with a tiny grain of salt.

Also, happy 200th page!

NEW Dave Cox interview: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3179951

Cox doesn't like the GoW/Uncharted comparisons, and he wants to reassure people that it's more like Simon's Quest when you get into it. (Time will tell).

Also mentions that IGA is working on other things Castlevania besides HoD--is interested in 3DS.

"The demo is very linear, but the game then opens up and you can explore. We encourage players to explore. You have a map, and once you complete a stage you can revisit earlier stages. You may reach a boss and remember there was an upgrade a few stages back, and go back to get it." /David Cox

This is why I'm waiting to see the non combat elements before I pass judgment. Sure the combat may be just like GoW, but I want to see the parts that likely wont be.

one thing i find nice about this game is that the creatures all seem "real".  in the PS2 games, you saw creatures materialize from nothingness, which made me think of them as just evil energy given form by an evil creator, who could probably dream up anything.

If the demo isn't representative of the game, they shouldn't have released it.

You can only make one first impression.

Please. Arkham Asylum's demo was linear, truncated, and definitely not representative of the game as a whole.

Did it ruin the experience? I'd have to be retarded to say it did.
