If anything, this game reminds me more of Simon's Quest.

Yea, I was kinda thinking the same thing. But then again, Cox has said he was heavily influenced by CV2 and SCV4, so it would make sense that LoS has a smiliar feel to those games. If that's the case that's fine with me cuz I think 2 & 4 are fantastic games, even to this day.

In Reply To #3578,

Cox may want us to believe it started off as a remake, but he's on record saying otherwise:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE4YxIYIkJM
at 3:55, he clearly says it's a new, original game, a brand new IP for Konami. But none of that matters now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gronF6QG2Ow
at 3:15, he says the game doesn't take inspiration from "the SotN's & the CotM's"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kf8wPliz2rM&feature=player_embedded
At 3:00 he's asked if LoS is a "metroidvania," he says YES, then proceeds to say what elements they're using.

I still can't wait to play it already, though!

Yeah, but in 2008 Konami supposedly wanted to keep the game's nature as a CV title a secret, so when asked about it he would have been forced to lie about it. Or maybe Konami told Cox that it was going to be a new IP and changed their minds later. We don't really know.

Yeah, same here. Despite what some people may think, CV2 was a good game, and SCV4 was beyond awesome.

I see, but like Inccubus said, Cox may have lied on purpose, though, we may never really know for sure. Anyway, I really can't wait to play this game, too. Just two more months!

Does it matter?--- I don't care anyway, it's a very good looking and refreshing CV game now, that's all that matters IMO.

No he's not, at all, but I don't have my expectations in the 9-10's, with a 8-8,5 I will be the happiest fan in the world  :)

It looks like it'll be a fine game.  It'll probably score above 7.5, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if it gets like an 8.5.
It doesn't look like anything below that.

Im sure this game won't get a score lower than lower than a 8.0 unless it has gamebreaking bug's, repetitive game design or if someone from the Chapel is reviewing it.

My score prediction is 8.0/9.5 tops

This. I certainly doubt it's a -8, I expect an overal metascore of 84-91  :) It has everything to shine this time! And don't come and say "But it's gonna be a GOW clone" oh rly? tell me a big difference between COD4, CODMW, CODMW2, Halo3 and KillZone2, and all of them are in the 90+ metascore. If that will be the excuse to lower LOS score (like: "It's a better game but a innecessary sequel" was to Bioshock 2) I will lose my faith in Game Journalism.

Knowing how much they loathe this game, I bet they'll give it a score of 1.0. Needless to say, I believe it will score in the 8.5-9.0 range, or hopefully, even better.  :)

(like: "It's a better game but a innecessary sequel" was to Bioshock 2)

Wait, a game journalist said that about Bioshock 2? Wow. Just, wow.

No, I bet they'll give a 0.0. Man, those guys, especially that GizmonicGamer.
The way I'm looking at it, I'm predicting a 6-8.
