I think it was how spontaneous it appeared, how it glows, and its accent that causes ill feeling in me. Everything other instance of corny talking creature is thankfully left out of the story in other Castlevanias. The horse is just played off as serious though.

Dude I'd be pretty weirded out if a blue veined horse talked to me and said "get on my back", but if I was being chased by werewolves and Warg's I wouldn't have done the same thing Gabe did and trust the magic horse.

I only have one possible response to that:

It's coming out October 5th!

O_O Really? Damn, was expecting mid-November at the earliest. This and Splatterhouse are bound to make an excellent October.

Also; Kirby's Epic Yarn  :D

Anyway, the talking horse is flat out weird, but like some of you already said; It will probably be explained in the game. The start of the demo is soooo serious with the werewolves and the rain and everything... and then, POW! - talking fantasy horse that glows!
But yeah, the rest of the demo looks as fantastic as ever.

Holy crapola yes! I thought it was dated for the 19th but the street date is officially the 5th! This just made my friggin day! Just a little over a month to go then! Time to do the happy dance!

(Though yeah...that talking horse is creepy weird.)

Gamestop still lists the release date as Oct 19th. So which is it, the 19th or the 5th?

Also, a friend just preordered the Limited Ed, and it comes with a T-shirt and there supposedly is a hardcover strategy guide in the works as well.

There is no difference, it's just the way it's listed.

Ok then.
Follow-Up question:  does it matter where I order from?  Like, is the Gamestop version the same as, say, the Amazon version?

The packaging is the same, but if you preorder from Gamestop it's supposed to include a free LoS tshirt too, if that matters to you. Amazon probably woudln't include that. I think that's a Gamestop exclusive.

they should all be the same regardless of where they come from... the usual differences if any are the preorder bonus the stores do like special DLC or unlockables with simple codes and shit

From kotaku.com,

Quote
I think for me, one of the key things that went wrong for those games is that they tried to emulate the 2D gameplay in 3D," he continues. "For us, we haven't really tried to do that. We pretty much designed from the ground up as a 3D game. That meant making decisions and making gameplay decisions and decisions about design that meant we would see new things in Castlevania that we haven't seen before. We've been brave enough to do that.

But CV64/LoD seemed more based off of 3D adventure games, and LoI and CoD just poorly emulated the 3D action game trend. And all four of these games introduced elements we had never seen before in Castlevania.
