After reading all the spoilers I have some reservations about the story, but I'll definitely judge for myself soon enough.
I got a text from GameStop today that they will have the game tomorrow morning, but I'm still 40$ short until Friday so...
Oh well, at least I got the shirt already! ^_^

I'll be getting mine tonight for the midnight release. I was fortunate enough to avoid all the streams & whatnot, so it's gonna be a blast. I'll have it beat by tomorrow morning, impressions soon after

I'll be getting mine when the EU LE comes out, which hopefully isn't too long away  :(

Although it could be any time between now and Christmas, but I'm not in a huuuge rush to play this.

Does anyone know if the soundtrack has been uploaded anywhere? That's the most important part of the game for me  ;D

The demo is out for NA on Xbox Live.

I'm somewhat tempted to try it out despite my negative feelings toward this game right now.

Fuck it, downloading. I'm a doomed to flip flop my opinions.

Hmm according to Cox's Twitter, there's 15 days to go until the EU LE, I think.
So that would make it.. the 19th of October  :D

Wow.

Wow wow wow wow. I just did a complete 180 after playing the demo, almost. The game is REALLY fun but it's challenging. Blocking attacks and syncing them at the right time to do counters is hard, and the fixed camera is pretty annoying. Sometimes you can't see what enemies are doing off screen or their backs are faced toward you, so you can't tell if they're about to do an attack that's unblockable.

The movement feels very similar to the classic games, given strict movements and such. The combat is fluid and there is so much you can do with the whip.

I might buy this game now, I don't know. The demo was really fun though. I enjoyed it a lot.

My flip floppy opinions are pretty annoying to deal with, even for myself. I apologize everyone. :(

I'm still on the fence about this game in some ways though, I've seen the entire thing via that stream. I can't rent it either, all rental shops closed down in my area.

Hey we all have our own opinions OSM. But if you ask me I think you should buy it. If you enjoyed the demo then you'll definately enjoy the rest of the game. For me the demo didn't really give you much to play with. Not to mention the setting made the camera a little wonky from the start, what with the darkness, rain effects, lightning etc.

I know this might not sway your decision, but from one fan to another - I think you'd get some great fun out of it. There are some minor, minor annoyances...but those exist in almost every action/adventure game anyway.

Today the whole ambient is different out there, reviews are different, people is acting different, it's like somehow everyone is like "I'ts fine to try" and they liked it :)

My copy arrives in 3 hours! My mother is bringing it to me ;D - The bad part: I can't ply it 'ti friday.

Nothing will stop me of watching the cinematic though ^^

Very good (official?) interview with Cox

I'm gonna buy it regardless of its fun factor because it says Castlevania. I will probably keep buying every game called Castlevania (except Harmony of Despair which I have no desire to play. Had they released the game on a disc I would've bought it though, for completion, or something. Downloadble crap doesn't count.)

Hmmm.. so the EU LE is out on october 19? I was gonna pick up the regular edition on friday, but now I may just wait a little longer.

Played the demo my thoughs:

Graphics: Great visuals, love the rain effect's, love the artstyle, it's probably the best looking game on the 360 currently and the atmosphere make you feel that the world is in peril, didn't notice any frame rate dips.

Music: Like what I've heard so far. Cinimatic orchestra that totaly fit's the mood of the universe, I can see why they didn't go with Yamane's style since it would be out of place. But I'll miss the catchy themes the series is known for.(I was happy that the classic game over music play's when you die)

Gameplay: It would be easy to just sum it up as " God of War clone" but im not gonna do that. The controls are tight, when you hit something it feels like your hitting your opponent. The game also takes cues from Lament of Innocence with the direct attacks and the wide attacks as well as the blocking. Im glad Mercurysteam decided to go with the L2-left stick dodging mechanic than the right stick Mechanic(which does nothing apparently). The enemies take alot of damage out of you so blocking and dodging won't get you far, I went in button mashing like God of War and got my ass whooped like Ninja Gaiden.(Played it on normal BTW)

Overall: I was impressed, gameplay is tight, visuals are great, music will probably be in a mixed bag but hey SOTN didn't have familiar tracks outside of Dance of Illusions. The only thing that bugged me or will bug me is the fixed camera but that comes with the territory with action games. Kinda wish they put some of the platforming elements into the demo but oh well the game comes out tomorrow.
