the Necromancer's abyss actually reminded me a bit of the Abyss in Dawn of Sorrow. AKA the FIRST time Castlevania actually included, and WENT to, Hell.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

The fuck is wrong with you? Necromancer's Abyss is probably the best and most "complete" stage in the game.
Opinions.

While Necromancer's Abyss was one of the most complete stages, I've got to say it wasn't one of my favorites.  Truly, my favorite stages were the ones inside the castle (chapters VI, VII, and VIII) and the mountain fortress (all of chapter IV).  They were also the most Castlevania like stages of the game.  The only problem is that the skeleton warriors are way too strong.  I mean, traditionally the skeleton enemies are weak in castlevania games.

Add me to the ones who didn't really like the Necromancers abyss, it looks cool at first but then it just get's boring fast. And chapters 4/8 were the best in the game hands down.

You know what's funny, the abyss is the only stage that has traditional platforming, platforms floating around and such.
The only problem is that the skeleton warriors are way too strong.  I mean, traditionally the skeleton enemies are weak in castlevania games.

Incidentally, after I finished the Vampire Castle, I put the game down for about 2 months and pretended it was over. My friends hounded me to really finish it though =(

Finally beat the game. The last battle against Satan was so damn fun, and seeing the ending for myself was a real treat. First time in forever I actually felt accomplished from beating a video game.

Last thoughts/predictions:

-Slogra has a model for him in epilogue, possible we might end up fighting him in the DLC? It just seems so weird to put so much work into a character and then reduce him to a prop. Maybe he's in the DLC with Laura?

-I still don't believe Gabriel himself became Dracula, I think something happened in that last scene with him and Satan. We see wings sprout on Gabriel's back, there has to be some significance to it. I'm really curious in knowing what the connection between Dracula and Satan is.

Actually, one option that WOULD have been nice, would have been the option to actually be able to re-read older scrolls. You can't go back to an older scroll once you have read it and it has moved off the scroll screen.
I could be wrong on this, but I thought you could re-read older scrolls from the pause screen.  I think you need to move to the left until the scroll icons are displayed, and there you can re-read anything you've already found in whichever level you're currently on.

In other news, I also found the Necromancer's Abyss to be horribly bland and boring.  Same with the Titan Graveyard.  *yawn*  Also extremely un-Castlevania, even moreso than the rest of the non-Castle levels in the game.

I found this origin on the castle interesting, especially this little tidbit.

Quote
It is said that the their castle was haunted long before the vampires came to dwell among its walls. The Bernhard clan made a pact with a hellspawn, which resulted in the building itself becoming possessed by the demon. It may just be a myth to harm the reputation of the family, but the fact that the castle could be a living entity may explain how, after centuries, no one had been able to create a complete map of their castle, even after expending considerable resources on the task.

So we're going to fight this demon in Reverie? Neat, doesn't sound like it could be Slogra anymore.

Maybe it's Legion...?
Same with the Titan Graveyard.
Ugh, yes. This is when the platforming started to become very awkward, the fixed camera was especially evil in this level too. I was disappointed the entire level didn't look like that part at the very beginning before you go up to the surface. It reminded me of that one area from Castlevania 64.

It could be one of the two possible candidates:

1. Galamoth

2. Chaos(This probably makes more sense.)

Edit: Crisis has the right Idea

Or maybe they will create an entirely new entity.
