@CastlevaniaLOS Mr.Cox, any chance Laura is a playable character in Reverie, or she just tags along similar to Zobek in LoS?

@The_Ronfather - She is playable in certain sections.

It's because pipe organs were not invented yet, just like clocks  ;)
To be historically accurate, LoS should've ditched the orchestra and went with Gregorian chants. It's so unfitting of the time period!

Not at all, most orchestra instruments were invented in medieval times, I think the mst recent are trombones and basoons

Very, very wrong. The Violin wasn't invented until the 16th century, the cello the 17th century, clarinets the 18th century, and so on. They are way younger. Orchestras as we know them were very 18th century.

The music box levels shouldn't exist by that logic too, it wasn't invented until the 18th century, and were originally built by WATCH MAKERS!
The dream reveals the reality, which conception lags behind. That is the horror of life - the terror of art.

If they wanted to make it more historically accurate then they should've used instruments that we're of the Roman period. But I agree that there should've been some kind of sinister chanting in the game, like they did for the Las Plagas cult in RE4. Now that was creepy.

They had bards and musicians in the middle ages, playing ancient versions of today's instruments. The sound of King Arthur movies is a fair aproximation of that.

I agree, Agharta sucked (yes I said that)Yes it has!!!

It's because pipe organs were not invented yet, just like clocks  ;)I agree. Hell, even Agharta would be good at NIGHTTIME. The caves were horrible designed though (Not the dark one, the one with the spiders).

My favourite level of the whole game is the mountain fortress, is in daylight but still classy, somewhat creepy, very well designed, terrific graphic detail and two awesome boss fights. My favourite chap.

But... the Machine Tower totally had gears, electricity, and artificial life. Not to mention there were full stained-glass windows, which also didn't exist at the time. And now a time machine. Historical accuracy is already thrown out the window (which I don't mind), so why not go all the way?

Same here, nice to see it confirmed though.

Cox recently tweeted this regarding the DLC release:

"@Veg1v0 - Sometime this month but definitely not this week
about 14 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to Veg1v0"

I could forsee it not coming out this early in the month, but it would seem as though they would release an official date at least a week prior to it's release. Not long now  :P

I really enjoyed the Agharta section.  Also water clocks have been around in China since around 4000 BC.

Music wise I enjoyed the soundtrack's use of leitmotif to bring things together as a whole, although I would have loved a few more themes scattered throughout.  Also I was a little disappointed that the music at the start of the Necromancer's Abyss was only used once.  Hopefully it will return in the DLC.

Sincerely,

David

Water clocks are completely different from mechanical clocks, aren't they?
A water clock tower would be pretty clever though! No idea how it would but clever!
