Id totally pay to play as Carmilla, Zobek and Cornell.
I imagine Carmilla and Cornell would have their relic powers, (Imagine? flight as Carmilla?)

Though that would be even more off the  CV path, if it were a prequel side game, it could work. (not like we havent had CV games without belmonts)

SCIV was cited as the main inspiration behind this game, right?

Originally, it was going to be yet another remake of the first game, only in 3D next gen.

Don't forget all of those hidden areas with the Chupacabra mini games.

Hiding Simon's whip was a great gameplay mechanic.

To Gabriel's credit, if I accidentally killed my wife & had to fight Satan himself, I'd probably end up becoming Dracula too.

edit: well maybe not lol

If I unknowingly DECAPITATED my wife and was then manipulated into killing and killing some more and then having to kill the spirits of the founders of my holy organization through killing their dark halves, in order to obtain pieces of a device to bring my wife back, and then it turns out I was being manipulated by one of my close allies, who was also the one who made me kill my wife, and get killed by him, and then discover that The device was never actually able to bring back the dead, and then discover that in that whole quest, through killing the 3 founders and their dark halves, that I have unleashed an unstoppable demon that they had imprisoned long ago...

PHEW, Id be pretty fucked up too.

I beat the DLC, and eventhough I expected us to find out how Gabriel turns into a vampire.. I didn't expect it in THIS way, the way Laura offered her blood, and in a comic quality cutscene. I didn't feel Gabriel's dire desperation enough. It's not that I don't think it's cool that he turns, I just expected the moment to be more epic and compelling. By the end of the DLC, it wasn't clear that he was turning, in order to stop this threat to the world, The Forgotten One..

I started playing through the DLC again to see if it made sense more. It's helping just A BIT, but still.. anyone agree?

Yep, and outside of whip rappelling points I just don't see it at all. *insert obligatory God of the Shadow of the Uncharted Colossus Rings comment here (see? I can be self deprecating too)*

I also don't understand why everyone wanted the God Mask so badly. They make it out to be this totally awesome weapon and it just lets you see ghosts more clearly. It's like starting a war over a pair of 3D glasses.

I don't understand. Gabriel felt obligated to face the threat represented by the Forgotten One (given Laura's words about how it would basically wipe out everything), and the only way he could survive "other side" was by consuming Laura's blood. At that point, he was made aware that the blood would kill him if he didn't take it all, so he was forced to do just that and kill Laura in the process. Is that not "desperate" enough for you?

I know. (oops, nvm, don't know why I thought that was directed at me)  :-[

I was thinking earlier...does anybody think that drac Gabriel possibly turning out to be some sort of anti-hero could mean that MS is only doing 2 or 3 CV games? I remember when Cox said he didn't want to be "Mr. Castlevania" and do the series long-term, so I wonder if Gabriel staying the protagonist is a real possibility.

The reason I'm thinking this is because it wouldn't make much sense to do 2 or 3 games, keep Dracula as the series villain, and spend this much time establishing a backstory for him. It just seems like a whole lot of unnecessary explanation for the short-term. But if Gabriel stays a "good guy," he could possibly be the protagonist for the next game, which could take place in the Epilogue timeframe, with possibly some DLC to chronicle a point in time between that and the time LoS takes place. Though I'm hoping he becomes totally evil, and the end events of Reverie should have gotten him there already, possibly making this a moot point.

Okay, I'm done babbling.

I totally agree, I thought a CGI cutscene would have made the moment so much more powerful and emotional. I mean, they made one for, I'll just say "water creatures", yet they skipped out on one of the most important moments in Gabriel's back story that is CV LOS lol.

But we haven't see the transformation, I'm sure he will feel more than wind in his face when he turns into a vampire. Also, he was forced to do so or he would have died, damning the world in the process, and.. hey what if the "liked it"? what if the wanted to be inmortal to... you know.. have revenge of the world?

Everything comes full circle
