we have the same arguments on megaman boards. if its called a Castlevania game, it is a castlevania game, like it or not.Wasnt saying we werent.

ssssooooooooo...............

Just because you have had the same arguments on a MEGAMAN board and just because it is called a Castlevania game makes it a castlevania game whether we longtime fans like it or not?

So we ourselves can not decide what we think is Castlevania because Konami calls it castlevania and that makes it law?

Is that your logic?

I don't think Pachislot or Encore of the Night are true Castlevania games.
And yet, they have the name "Castlevania" on the title.

On the other hand, I think "The Arcade" is totally a Castlevania Title, which is a shame, since I CAN'T PLAY IT! >_<

Why they don't port it for the Wii?

According to GAF Konami hasn't even started or planned Castlevania 3DS.

I really hate Konami lately.

Or the Move?  or the Wii-U?

(Wii would be best, for me)

But my point stands, Pachislot and Encore of the Night, though having the name "Castlevania" in the title, are not really Castlevania games, are they?

Well, i'll say that Pachislot isn't a Castlevania game, because you don't have control of any character, just cut scenes. Now for Encore of the Night.....i don't know, it isn't a platform or action game, but still you have control of characters and a castle exploration and classical tunes, the only thing that it is different, is the game play mechanism, it uses a variation of tetris......so i'll say that it is a Castlevania game.

Me personally, I do not let others make my decisions or make up my mind.

If I think something is not Castlevania I am not going to sit back and just accept it because someone else or the owner said it is.

Thats like someone making a turd sandwich and calling it a cheeseburger. They created it so it has to be whatever they say it is right?

That IS your logic is it not?

I think you are misunderstanding my point here.

you can say and feel that it "doesnt feel" like a vania, or "is nothing like" a vania, but if Konami has TITLED IT Castlevania, it is of the Castlevania franchise.

For example, no matter how much I dislike Dawn of Sorrow, it is still of the Castlevania franchise and series, and I cant change that.

Do you understand what I mean?

Sooooo......you are eating, whatever they serve you, even if it is junk food and you are accepting this? Don't you have your own personality? So, if they tell you to jump, you are jumping? Don't you see that thinking like yours, only encourages them to continue their ruin on the series?

I underestand your point, but Dawn of Sorrow, doesn't part away from the series and if i don't feel that whatever they have name Castlevania, isn't Castlevania at all.....then i want buy it, because if i do  buy it, then i'll only encourage them to ruin the series, even more..........

I understand what you mean.

But I think It is you who do not get where we are coming from. We are not trying to say it is not part of the CV series since obviously it is since Konami has made it so. But what we are saying is that It is not a Castlevania in OUR eyes and we do not consider it a Castlevania. Just because it is part of the series and Konami has called it a castlevania does not mean we have to automatically set back and take it. To me it seems as if this is the type of statement you have been trying to push on us and that is that If Konami sais it is a Castlevania game then we have to accept it and that is not true.

Konami owns Castlevania. We dont. if they say it is a Castlevania game, it is, no matter how much we dislike it.

Very interesting point here.

Konami owns Castlevania, true. But are they mastering their own creation ? Sure, not. See their last creations, ads and guides : they are full of mistakes everywhere. Like the guy who creates a sandwich which is not the good sandwich.

Castlevania owns its fans. That's all.

Konami makes money with Castlevania. Fans have love for this franchise. This is not exactly the same.

Castlevania isn't Castlevania anymore since 2002 and the second GBA release. Always the same stupid boring and easy games. That's my point. And I know everyfan has his own way to see the series. I just wanna change for all episodes, like Castlevania 1986-2001.

I am not hardcore fan of Lords of Shadow, but at least, it is another way of playing Castlevania, and I liked it. I expect something new for the oncoming title.

The problem here, Flame, is you're arguing a label, while those of us that scorn LoS as a true successor to the CV franchise are arguing essence. By your logic if Konami packaged a remote-control chicken and a bunch of paper zombies we could peck at and labeled it "Castlevania: Serenade of Cluck", it would be a true CV game. I'm just calling it like it is to me. It felt like I was playing PoP+GoW, which isn't a bad thing. And like others have said, LoS was good enough to stand on it's own as a franchise, but just as Konami did with Silent Hill 4 & 5, they slapped a popular label on a perfectly good stand alone game for the sake of profit. That shows a lack of confidence in the content they choose to publish. That's what puts me off the most.
