I've seen this video before and I also think that can be the idea behind "3DS". On "normal" DS it need probably some sensors in the cartridge, so I guess 3DS will have something like that included in the hardware. But 3DS can be also something completely different of course... so who knows.

That footage is on a regular DSi.  That's just clever use of the camera, not any special hardware.

I've heard this meme brought up a couple of times now, and I'd caution against it. The Virtual Boy failed for multiple reasons: the fact it was huge and ungainly yet marketed as "portable," the fact that the 3D it used was hideous and monochromatic, the fact it was expensive and the Gameboy was still very popular making a replacement technology unnecessary, the fact that 3D as a technology was largely dead and had been since the 1950s. The 3DS, what little we yet know of it, shares none of these failings. I'm not particularly 'in its corner' but I think if you're expecting the 3DS to be a recurring of the Virtual Boy you are likely in for a pretty big disappointment.

I forgot about the camera in DSi. But if this really works this way then I'm even more impressed.

It looks 3D and it is achieved with the accelerometer. I wonder what will happen if they implement the front facing camera now, will it also have head tracking and the same possibilities for games as that one that is on DSi..

Ok, so you can have maze games on the iPhone. I doubt you can have a CV on it.

The point was to show the fake 3D capabilities on iPhone thanks to the accelerometer, to compare it with the fake 3D on DSi using head tracking. After seeing both, I hope that the new DS will bring something much better than that. And there we could have this new CV game. I have a feeling that IGA has secretly been doing this new game for the new DS.

I don't think there is much chance that (if this game is a Castlevania game at all) it is going to be a new metroidvania. Especially since they apperently are going to conduct tournements and players can view/obtain high scores. If it is a Castlevania game at all I bet it is going to be a 2d fighting game. I'm all for that idea.

Or maybe the tournament part is just that - a part of the game. Maybe it's a 3D action game with a online, one-on-one fighting mode. Or something?
