In Final Fantasy XI, there is a mission called "Bloody Rondo" where you fight a vampire-type mob named Dracula. That one's kinda blatant.

I remember that the girl in the Yu-Gi-Oh cartoon has a Castlevania poster in her room.
But I do not have a picture available.  I saw it in an episode in which she was challenged to DDR by this one dude...
There's a character in the show called Camilla she plays with vampire cards and her field spell is called Infernalvania (and looks like castlevania) Also it has been stated this was a tribute.

its a strech here, but could castle bleck from super paper mario be a castlevania reference? especially how the game pans the castle when you first see it, very cv1ish, the castle resides in the dark void, a relm of darkness, the castle is one that was made from darkness, nuff said i think

not to mention the first battle with count bleck, is spent chasing him arround as he flies around pausing a moment to launch a dark void at you (dark inferno?)

the manga in question, Rosario + Vampire, the author has stated it has liked vampires as a child, the castlevania references seem to be more of a homage to the series

There is a Ganbare Goemon OVA that references Castlevania
if I recall correctly the hero Goemon enters a dimension where he transforms into a Simon Belmont look a like, eats pot roast, falls off stairs, & battles Dracula (although sadly much of this is only conveyed through static images). I'd post a link to the video but I can't remember where I found it anymore :'(

Here is some info on it though

the references here can reflect any media, either indirectly (hinted apon) or direct reference, eg an actual name or scene is depicted, fan games where the characters appear as sub characters is fine as well, eg, mario blue twilight, and i wanna be the guy, Touhou's game should be listed in here as well, just for the over stage, sounds and sprites used, to add to the list:

Band: 64Revolt
Album: What A Horrible Night To Have A Curse
Genre: 8-bit / Electropunk / Electroclash / Female Vocal
Country: Sweden

Robot Chicken: Castlevania spoof (warning not for the younger, contains language...)

The Nintendo DS game "Barnyard Blast: Swine of the Night" has a bunch of nods to Castlevania. The title is referance to SotN, you can use a whip, the main characters name is Robert Belmart, and there is a "What is a man..." reference, but I don't entirely remember it.

Quite possibly one of the cheapest looking games I've seen in a while.

Yeah it is. I got it dirt cheap, it's surprisingly difficult but not too bad for a cheesy game. I saw it had some CV references in it and figured I'd give it a shot

Barnyard Blast actually looks pretty cool. Might be a good base for an SD CV hack.

Scored a solid 7 at most places.
Seems good for a low-budget production.

I'm grabbing it right now.
I'll give it a go and plan what kind of work would be needed.
I'm thinking some Kid Dracula stuff would work well. ^_^
