I just made that comment as a  joke, its kind of surprising that there are people already arguing about it.
And i was aware of the fact that she left too.
Dammnit.

Get the chaps who composed the music for Super Castlevania IV if they're still around.

I think I read somewhere that they were uncredited. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong?

we'll as some have pointed out already after leaving Konami she still composed the music for CVOoE.
read here for some more info on her
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michiru_Yamane

No real mention of anything she did outside videogames. She worked on a Wii game too apparently, but she didn't do enough games to assume she's still doing videogames as a full career. I'll investigate further.

Much more interesting is the fact that Yuzo Koshiro worked on Portrait of Ruin. And I find the soundtrack for that game bland. I'm starting to question my tastes, cause Yuzo is a Genious (capital included).

I don't think I've ever seen the composers for the pre-Yamane OSTs credited either. Quite ironic, Bloody Tears could have been written by a graduating college student.
Gonna dig some.

And:

Not far from the truth.

Oh they were credited. They're Masanori Adachi and Taro Kudou. iirc, both of them don't work for Konami anymore.

In case anyone is interested, i think this is her latest Interview:

http://www.squareenixmusic.com/features/interviews/michiruyamane.shtml

It covers her most recent works AFAIK, such as the Box Set and the Concert at Stockholm. :)

Yeah, this one I had read, but I'm wondering if she actually managed to do anything outside videogames or not. It would be interesting to know, not just to dig up what she did and listen to it, but also because I guess her partecipation in videogame OSTs for the future also depends on her success outside of them.
She's mastered the midi-quality console world quite well, but I don't see her having worked on music on next gen consoles at all. If she can break the wall of challenges raised by having an aural standard that doesn't allow for synth-sounds and keyboards only, she could probably contribute a lot more to the industry. And if she's working on tv soundtracks or simply to release her own music, she's certainly getting more experience (heck, assuming she needs it, who knows at this point) in that field. I'd be thrilled to hear something from her that doesn't feel like it belongs to the 80s.

Or maybe she's just slowly retiring. She seems to discuss the idea of slowing down and letting go of full time employements in all interviews I read. She's not a teenager any more after all, and she's worked in the field for 3 generations of consoles.

I really don't see how this means anything. It doesn't say either game is in development....just that Cox finds the ideas interesting.

Stealing IGA's 1999 idea would be pretty below the belt.

I'd rather have any 1999 or Julius game be 2D.

Yeah because you should toootally trust his words, a twitter sequel confirmation would give Konami's PR department a a heart strike, and we know how afraid Cox is of those people :P

Mmh. Even if Cox does a 1999 battle, it'll be LoS' 1999 battle and NOT IGA's.

Cox's: Gabriel/Dracula + Zobek/Death VS Satan
IGA's: Julius + friends VS. Dracula

So it's still fair if Cox "steals" the idea.

However, I'd rather see a LoS sequel than a Trevor reboot right now. Finish LoS and then make an AWESOME CV III 3D remake.
