Julius Belmont?

1999 Demon Castle War
Wouldn't say 1999, but it could be LoS's version of those events.

Considering LoS2 is based around Dracula as the main character, (funny how I once said it would be cool if they made a game where you play as Dracula and fight a Belmont) Julius will likely be a boss character. That's not to say he couldn't be playable ala Aria of Sorrow, but it's doubtful. Not like LoS1 gave us playable Zobek or anything. (I'm still waiting on that, MS) Though LoS2 seems to have a much more massive scale than LoS1, so who knows.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Cox said on his twitter to not believe everything you read on internet... he didn't denied, neither confirmed, so... maybe it's true after all...

I love these Rumor Mill threads for upcoming games.

I remember when Aria of Sorrow came out, and the huge big rumor flying around was that Arikado was Alucard. Obvious in retrospect, yeah, but at the time SotN was still on everyone's mind and people were looking for a good sequel, so it was kind of a big deal. Then there was everything surrounding Soma.....

Good times.

Thing is about rumors surrounding Castlevania, they normally end up being true.  In fact, I think every Castlevania from the past 9 years had rumors behind it that turned out to be true.

The only rumors I have very slight doubts about are Alucard being a narrator in one of the games and Simon Belmonts voice actor playing Julius Belmont. ( I do however believe that Julius is the "new" Belmont Cox is talking about.)  Everything else seems very likey to check out.

It's nice that the loS is almost the whole Castlevania condensed in 3 games. That idea is kind of romantic, and I like it.

Really hope that LoS PC thing turns out to be true. I'll probably get MoF because 3DS game that's Castlevania, but LoS I'd much rather get on PC than anything else.

Cant say Julius surprises me. He's THE go to "Modern Day Belmont", and fan favorite due to his badass facial hair. (Though Simon has got some competition for him now!)

Of course, again, it is yet to be seen if any of this holds up.

Not for nothin' but isn't Julius also thechnically THE only "Modern Day Belmont"? Just sayin'.

Does a Belmont always have to be someone who carries a whip and sub-weapons? What if there was a brother? Is he not able to fight monsters for the sake of humanity just because his brother wields the "holy grail" of all weapons. Do the parents of the non whip wielding Belmont develop thick Indian accent and say, "Beta, you're not cut out to be a Vampire hunter like your brother Richter, you're a failure. Just become a doctor, lawyer or an engineer."

I think it would be nice to see a non-whip wielding Belmont for once and see his perspective on what it feels like not being the heir to the whip, especially if he is stronger and smarter than the chosen one... but the Belmonts may have shitty rituals like "The first born child will heir the Vampire Killer, even if he's physically handicap or whether the younger child is a fighting prodigy. Rules are rules." But this concept suits a game made by IGA and it sounds like something he would do... Jealousy and not being granted something promised is a common theme in his recent CVs, especially OoE.

It would be nice to have "Non-Belmont Belmont" as a combat character, not something exactly like Johnathan Morris but, you get the idea. Something like this guy... "The Rival" or more commonly known "Hanz Belmont".

I've always thought Johnattan would be alive by 199 if too old. He probably gave the VK to Julius too.

Johnatthan was pretty young in POR, so I would say he would be somewhere in his late to mid 70s by 1999.
