I feel what the guy said about the music is MS's entire viewpoint on the series. I can tell by seeing how much they butcher it, disrespect it, and disrespect the people who loved Castlevania before they came on board. I don't care what they say about using Castlevania IV as their bible. That was a lie. A mere marketing ploy to get people who were jaded by same-ish metroidvanias instantly interested and on their side. They are either ignorant about Castlevania, or just don't care about it... or both.

I've been saying for years that what they're doing is a complete travesty, and I think they prove that the longer they're around and the more they open their mouths.

Thanks, I just dont get why they do that, so I stopped asking...

Well, he made peace and then posted in a fangame thread saying... some "incorrect" words and said that its just a joke. Then Bloodreign said that would give a warning to him, but in the same post he said "whatever, its a ban for you" or something like that lol

So I assume that he doesnt appeared anymore because his ban didnt expired yet.

Quite frankly, I sort of wished Kojima wasn't part of it. I don't really like him. I don't hate him by any means. I loved the first MGS. And Revengenace looks cool. But eh, I think his stuff is a bit saturated with nonsensical plots.

As for LoD. It was alright. Some of it was pretty good. Lots of it didn't fit my image of CV. But There were also a lot of stuff I just plainly didn't like.

Kojima's involvement was the marketing ploy. The extent of his involvement was giving it BACK the CV name it had lost so as to not upstage Judgement, and advising MS on Gabriel's character design. That's... really about it.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

I wonder if they'll make Castlevania: Hammer Time with Kojima at the reins. It'd be a Castlevania x Metal Gear cross-over! Everyone always wondered how Hammer got around in the castle; now they can find out by being him!

"But eh, I think his stuff is a bit saturated with nonsensical plots."

I wanna facepalm you so hard... He's one of those few Japanese Developers who are actually well aware of Western Culture and has done great work using History and made up his own Sci-Fi story from there and was the Pioneer of the Stealth Genre.

But yes, Kojima only suggested to create an original Belmont since it was a seperate IP, that's all. That is unless you wanted Assassin's Creed's Proto-Gabriel Simon Belmont become "EU SUNT DRACUL", be my guest. The fact they flawed on their first game, MercurySteam at least made Simon more inspired from the OT as "Fresh but familiar" for MoF. Thank Kojima for changing their mind for that. MercurySteam only made a little improvement since the first game. I do like LoS and MoF despite their flaws, but this comment from the producer is utter garbage.

"LoS is a love letter to Castlevania" - Dave Cox

MY ASS! I liked Oscar's Music but since the first time LoS became CV LoS, Cox repeatedly said new tracks and old. Well, LoS actually had a few and of course, some were just borrowed to make newer tracks and MoF lacked that, but at least the music was an improvement. I never paid much attention to Classic Tracks since Yamane-San herself didn't remix old tracks in her games, but at least she "RESPECTED" the series she worked for. If you compare RoB and LoI, they have different atmosphere and they didn't play the same style of music either, but they signified the series for it's music even there.

LoS had a good potential for what they had, but even though they wanted to try their own thing, their own perspective of the series but didn't do well enough to please me as a fan, you know what? I can accept that, mistakes happen and I can be rational. But after reading this letter... Mercurysteam, go f*** yourself.

I'll still by LoS2 though, it looks sick or at least it seems for now...

I really don't care about Kojima games.
It's my personal taste. Both MSX Metal Gear games are entertaining, MGS bored me and that's all I played, but it's not the kind of thing I like.

But I wouldn't blame Kojima for anything that went wrong with MS games.
I believe his name was just a marketing strategy.

@Lelygax: +2 for you, fixed!  :)

Oh sure sure I'm interested in that too.
The Ricordanza novel I'm currently translating has some parts focusing on Hammer on how he defeats monsters to get items. They can get ideas from there and improve it in game. I would just give a warning that Hammer is not stealthy in the novel.

Well, Yamane has said on a interview, that she chose that style of music for LoI, because the time it was taking place, didn't have electric guitars or some other music organs, that's why we've got what we've got. I like most of her work, because most of the tracks she mades, they fit with the place they are playing, putting you on the mood and place, that you are playing.

Yamane always adjusts her tracks depending on the visuals and enemies/characters found in the area of the game. She even plays the in-progress game just to get the mood of the bgm right.

Among other things, I hope LoS2 won't soil the concept of playing as Dracula. Or use it all up.

Really is a pity Konami themselves didn't use the concept years ago. There was Soma, but he wasn't quite what I want. That was teasing with the idea, not really the Dark Lord game. What I want is for Dracula to have a final duel with someone like Galamoth. And not in a "I wanna be free of immortality" - kind of way. I mean acting like the magnificent bastard he is. Personality-wise, I enjoyed the Dracula gameplay of Judgment. He just didn't give a crap about anything and was arrogant. And that is the Dracula I know and love. The one I want to play as.

Ditto. I used to be a fan, but not really anymore. I still respect his accomplishments, his ability to create hype and his ability to create original characters. I can also understand why he is such a golden boy for Sony and Konami. His games (well, mainly MGS) boost whatever device they're peddling and he brings in the money. But as far as his writing and overall game design goes..I think he has gone to Prince Land.

I wish he or any other big name will stay away from CV. Not just because they might throw in more references to their own games, but also because I feel it cheapens Castlevania. I don't think this series needs a piggyback ride from anyone. Any capable producer and team will suffice.
