The greatest Castlevania game has a new champion

http://www.gamestooge.com/2008/08/16/1up-order-of-ecclesia-is-best-castlevania-ever/

says this person who's already completed the game at least once.   It's very interesting.  Because before this, the
previous best Castlevania game was PoR. and before that,
SOTN. and before that, CVIII, and before that, Rondo of
Blood, and before that, CV2.

so this is extremely exciting news!   Makes ya want to
pre-order already.   This is gonna be the ultimate
Castlevania game to date!

Opinions.. opinions... I believe it when I see it.
I'm finding it hard to believe this is the best CV ever, it doesn't look original enough.

And if you sincerely think that PoR is that great, you must have very low standards, no offense...

Hmm...

Well now we know how the stylus will be used, doesn't sound too corny. On the flip side it also seems that there will be a lot of "fetch quests", but hopefully they won't be too bad.

I wonder if the difficulty is as cracked up as he says; maybe he just sucks at platforming and monster slaying. He also seems to hint that the various accessories that Alucard could wear will be brought back (shields, cloaks, etc.) That would be a huge plus  :)

There'll probably be more than 2 hidden characters to play as, and I hope the 2 endings (so far) will be interesting.

I have a feeling that while OoE won't be the best Castlevania ever, it'll most likely be the best out of the DS games.

"doesn't look original enough"!?!?!?!?
so you expected a gothic waitress wielding a rabbit-flail while on magical hover bat rollerskates, in their quest of hunting down Dracula's evil and powerful pet Pig familiar, located somewhere within deep ruins underneath their town tavern's basement?

how's that for originality?  but originality wouldn't necessarily mean it would really sell, would it?

It probably doesn't look original because it looks just like all the other metroidvanias so far.

Have you played SotN? CotM? HoD? AoS? DoS? PoR?
Cause if you had, you'd clearly see how unoriginal this game is, and you can't beat SotN with a clone. Well, you can make a better game, but it's still a clone and as such it won't have the same impact as the original. That doesn't mean OoE is gonna suck, and like someone already said; It may very well be the best DS game yet. But the best ever? The level design in the Monastery is already looking rather dull, but I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt until I've tried it for myself.

It wont be hard to make this the best DS Castlevania game ever xP I mean in my opinion their previous two DS games weren't really that good. DoS can be fun to play if you're bored, but otherwise I think it sucks. It's such a shame they made it a sequel to AoS, because AoS was so perfect in every way.

well for the most part I usually agree with 1up.com and EGM's reviews, further more, I usually tend to agree with Shane Bettenhausen, and while it is just his opinion, I feel a bit more confidant in that it will be a good game, even if it isn't the greatest
What a horrible night to have a curse!

Yeah well, I just think that videogame journalists have a tendency to be kinda..uhm.. corrupt. Especially when they're praising a game that so many other magazines around the world haven't even played yet, and won't until 1-2 weeks before the official release. Makes me wonder why some reviewers get the games MONTHS before others. They must be very good friends with Konami. I'm not saying anything more.  >:(

DoS was proclaimed the best Castlevania and then PoR was. So... yeah. Let's not trust the press.

Wait...... wait...... what? CVIII? but before that Rondo of Blood? I thought Rondo came after. Sides..... no body ever beat Trevor. NOBODY! Of course there are still people who like Simon better, but Simon came first. So for them, Trevor never made it to first, so it doesn't matter.
