do I understand that you don't like the combat? I didn't play the demo yet, but if I'm catching your sarcasm here, your basically saying that the combat is too simple? or too similar to GoW?
nonono, i said it was good that it looks like ill be using the dodge button more in this than i ever had to in gow. well i dont actually like what i've seen of los's combat but that's for other reasons that don't feel like talking about~

@Volt:
No I don't mean the voice acting (which I'm aware is awesome since it's Sir Patrick Stewart and all), I mean the narrative itself.

That book on the title screen looks a hell of a lot like Grimoire Weiss from Nier.

heh heh I had the same though at first, but I never got to play that game, looks like a horror genre.

Nier is pretty much an action RPG, I got to play it before my 360 flatlined and it's pretty decent.

Also, Cox is really liking the reviews of the game

"Yep I am so happy ...got some review scores today but cannot publish or say anything yet but they're fucking awesome :) lol"

Next tuesday the review embargo will be lifted and judgement will be cast.

Really hoping this is the game that makes it for Mercury Steam, everyone has their moment to shine, and I think Lords of Shadow is it for them.

I'm getting really excited now, I keep frequenting this thread and my post count has increased by an incredible amount in less than a week LOL

You should get it. Nier is the best game on this generation of consoles in my opinion. I absolutely love it. The graphics are pretty poor, but its and incredible game. It has a wonderful soundtrack and an amazing story. It is also the only RPG where I immediately started a Newgame+ the moment I finished it (and it was worth, the multiple endings, alternate cutscenes, and so on were awesome). On top of that the combat wasn't bad. More fun than say, God of War. If you rent it you could easily finish it before Lords of Shadow gets released, it will definitely help pass the time.

hey, i caught another Castlevania 64 nod - there will be hedge mazes in the game according to the demo.  i was just about to start the villa stage in Castlevania 64, so it's good to know the mazes will be back.  that is one of the most heart-pounding parts of the game.

wow I actually already own it, I just didn't care much to play it but it seems to be incredible. BTW when I said a horror genre I meant Eternal Darkness.

God I hope his characterization isn't that stiff and stoic the whole game.

Quality of the demo doesn't get anybetter than this, This is the closer you will get to have your demo playing at your Tv,
