I don't see why everyone is saying ITS DOING BADLY TIME TO SWITCH THINGS OVER;

Order of Ecclesia was excellent, did excellently and was very well recieved.

And you didn't really listen to what I was saying or apparently comprehend it because you basically ignored and went off some other tangent, so I'm done as well.

If there's anything that would make me hate the classic Castlevania games, it most certainly isn't the games themselves; but rather, that ignorant fraction of their fanbase.

it'd do much to lift the spirits of the franchise and with both of these games, all would be right with the world.

Yes, what would be Awesome!! And it can happen! :D We got both the new Bionic Commando and Bionic Commando Rearmed, didn't we?

So the Alucard game is more "interesting" because it showed Alucard right? Because... that's ALL it showed.

Yeah, because the Symphony sequel has been alluded to for a while now and then they make a teaser for it, and it's canned/tossed aside in favor for a reboot of the series? Come on now.

They should've stuck with the original idea with this kinda gameplay.

Again, we don't know for sure that it's been canned.

I read the pages here, i've seen the screens and the trailer of the game and all i can say i that it has awesime graphics, nice VA, but the game play reminds me very much GoW and i don't know if this is good or not, because it makes it looking like a clone of GoW. I think that only time will show.......

A few things I noticed after watching the trailer again:

-The characters have accents
-It's about a mask that brings the dead back to life, right? And Gabe's wife is dead, right? Maybe his wife is given the mask and turned into Camilla or something, because it's evil and laced with bad juju.

Honestly, aside of the combat using whip-like combos and lasso moves, it's not much like GoW at all.

Yeah there's a bunch of giant mythical creatures, but what defines God of War is its over the top violence and sexism, its focus on observational mini puzzles and it's ancient Greek mythos setting.

I think it has more in common with the PS2 Castlevanias in terms of its combat style, and the presentation is more akin to Lord of the Rings and other fantasy stuff.

It's a modern style action game so the base similarities to the likes of GoW are going to happen, as GoW was one of the forefathers of the genre. But LoS isn't copying GoW anymore than the previous PS2 CVs did.

It's not like Gabriel is carrying around double chain-blades and viscerally ripping the guts out of his prey for the hell of it.

Oh God.. They're trying to make Castlevania appeal to all the stupid frat boy console owners, making it mainstream.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

This prayer will save us from that.. Yes it will.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sucks

Am I the only one who thinks the amount of masturbation that takes place for Alucard and SotN is hilarious? Seriously, just because it's not a SotN rehash (like we need more of those) doesn't mean this new CV won't kick ass. Honestly, are we Castlevania fans, or Trekkies? And by Trekkies, I'm talking about the self-absorbed kind who have precision to detail so great that they could fix the hubble telescope in five minutes, and are more worried about canon than good storytelling.

Wonder how the frat boy class and generation of 2010 will stand against that of 1997 . . .

On the same token there isn't a clear view of the back of the Castle so there still might be one.

If they are taking this into a different direction my guess is that this takes place around the same time of LoI and show that not only Mathias could become a vampire or a Dark Lord for that matter but also someone else. Just an idea though....

I kinda wonder he becomes of Dracula's eventual servants. For instance, I'm not saying that it's him, but what about someone along the lines of Olrox?

I gotta say, Kojima sounds like an asshole saying that. Numerous people have built this series over the years. If I were to helm/produce a CV, I would never make such a claim. Even with IGA's failures, I would respect the guy's contributions by not claiming "HAY GUYS I AM A FUCKING GOLDEN GOOSE FOR THIS COMPANY! GET WET, GIRLS AS ME, THE A-CLASS PRODUCER, MAKE THIS GODDAMN SERIES BORN AGAIN!".

Completely agree. Jesus, sometimes I feel he's one of the most fan-tortured producers ever. I can live with criticizing his mediocre CVs, but he's been called egomaniac and a woman-hater, which IMO, go way too fucking far.

The guy's just been doing his job. And even if the quality of the games have been declining over the years, there is no doubt in my mind he has been doing his best.
