Judgement is Konami's fault, NOT IGA!!!!!!!!!!

THEY FORCED that concept on him.  specifically, they wanted
him to make a CV game for Wii.  I don't think it was IGA's
intention to make it a fighting game.  but if he did, maybe it shows how much he doesn't want to work on Wii.

better something simple like a fighting game, than wasting a brilliant Castlevania adventure on the Wii instead of a better platform.

You're right, it mentioned Middle Ages, as well: "a devastated Southern Europe during the Middle Ages." I guess the two could be reconciled...

I wonder, what exactly devastated Southern Europe? A war during that time period, or the supernatural beasts that killed Gabriel's wife? It might turn out to be an important distinction depending on the plot, unyuu!

Hmph. Still not happy that I'm not seeing any Belmonts or Dracula... >:(

Your opinion of why Judgment was made, doesn't appear to match IGA's reasons for making the game. There are plenty of interviews to look through if you are interested hearing his actual reasons for making the game. While I'll admit its possible that IGA was giving out industry spin (in order to sell it), I don't think its right of us to actually accuse him of lieing to the press.

Here are a couple of the interviews;

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/specialArt.cfm?artid=16557
http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=62217

Of course here is an article that accuses IGA of giving out industry spin,and the article writer is calling bull on it, and thinks IGA;

Quote
"The saddest thing is watching Koji Igarashi on the E3 show floor, hovering around the Castlevania Judgment kiosk for half an hour, knowing that everyone hates it, knowing that he knows they hate it, then realizing that it

I also agree the game is alot of fun. I didn't go into it expecting the next epic, but just something to pass the time until next game in the series. Going by that I feel it lived up to the standards I was projecting on it. Also people may be mixed on the art style, but I thought it was nice to have someone's elses interpretation than the general art styles we have been receiving. Some of the characters were spot on, others were total misses, but still I don't think it hurt my enjoyment of the game.

As for the music, the music completgely rocks. Definitely one of my personal favorite sound tracks.

If thats the case, I think IGA deserves criticism for helping Konami to exploit the Castlevania fan base with a game they would otherwise have no interest in.

Hi,

After watching LOS trailer I can figure out some interesting thoughts which you could find them quite interesting too.

The lines " I loved you then and I love you now " and  " I've done questionable things " .. I say those two lines are from the end of the game and more precisely after reviving her from the death due to the power of the mask. I think that he chose the wrong path which led him to kill his friends and the innocent people only to obtain the power of the mask and then be able to bring his beloved one back to life. once it's done and she's revived, he starts thinking about his sins ( because she's turned into a vampire or medusa, well I guess) and since he has killed the innocent ones, he has no choice but to accept his faith as a lord of shadow ( who will become Dracula ). The narrator line supports my thought when he says : " a pure hearted warrior will claim the power of lords of shadow as his own.. ". It's him...Dracula.

And the one who says " Don't you see Gabrial! You can bring her back ".. I say this person is Death and he will guide him all the way to become Dracula.

Another thing comes to mind which is the title itself. LORDS of SHADOW. Are they living in the shadow ? Why?! because they like to live in the dark or they can only be living in the dark places ? what about taking that shadow to a higher level and turning this world into eternal darkness?. what about a lord of darkness instead of lords of Shadow ?

Well, I just tried. Anyway, tomorrow is June issue of PSW which will reveal more information regarding this game.

Regards,

Thanks Kojima .. one of the revolutionaries in the entertainment industry

So much speculation, so little news.  After rewatching the E3 footage --this Dave Cox guy working under Kojima comes off arrogant and disrespectful the way he talks down to past Castlevanias.  Sure those N64 and PS2 games had issues, but "forgetting everything we know about Castlevania" should be downright offensive to any hardcore fan.  He should have spent his E3 spotlight bending over backwards telling us how much he LOVES Castlevania and why HE is qualified to be taking over IGA's job.  Then he should have shown more of what's in development to support his claims.  Kojima's name inspires confidence, but Dave Cox?  Who the hell is this man?  And why should he be trusted with Castlevania?  I'd much rather see a few dungeonites put in charge.

I think that the words his wife says to him might have been said when she was a spirit, not necessarily after being revived.  The press release says of her "Neither living nor dead she realises the horrific truth of what is at stake and guides Gabriel to his destiny
