Man, I'm so going to laugh when they reveal that the Japanese name of this game is "Akumajou Dracula" which would immediately give away the villian.

Your logic doesn't convince me by the way.

Logic or not, when in a trailer for a castlevania game they start showing a castle and have an overdub of the main character and a deep voiced guy saying how he is your god now and how he will end the belmont clan it seems
PRETTY obvious he is a vampire or is dracula...

Seems pretty logical to me.

Depends on if you subscribe to the original Japanese version of things or you adhere to the American versions. Personally I use whichever will make sense, and in my mind it was a Dracula wraith, regardless of whether or not it was created by the castle or Maxim or what have you. It's still *A* Dracula, at the very least.

I believe this Dracula wraith is indeed Dracula but not yet complete. So he isn't Dracula but at the same time he is, at least that's what I think IGA was trying to tell us. I believe he introduced the Dracula wraith in order to avoid that HoD would contradict with Rondo if you know what I mean.

Of course, but you would agree that there is still room for doubt right?

There is always room for a little doubt but to be "worried" that there is no dracula AT ALL in an origins rebirth of castlevania game seems silly...

Considering Castlevania while it is being reborn at its basis it is a story of dracula and a vampire hunter, and Cox knows this and I doubt he would change the CORE of castlevania itself.

What the CORE of Castlevania is can be different from person to person, though. Like for me, the core of Castlevania is a huge gothic castle whose structure and interior alone should be High Octane Nightmare Fuel, filled with death and decay with monsters and creatures that reflect that aspect, Dracula at the center of things imposing his terror across the land, and a strong protagonist. This should be the core, with things like candle-whipping and medusa heads and wall meat adding the uniqueness of the series to the whole shebang. To Cox, it could be something different. He may simply think a strong protagonist with a whip-like weapon and a castle may be the core. I can't say.

Castlevania- the castle of Dracula which has been how it is forever..expect the few occasions where Dracula was in his little dormant state.

About the whole Castlevania vs Akumajou Dracula, I thought I remember an interview from a while ago where they mentioned they were switching back to Akumajou Dracula because the Japanese fans disliked the name being changed to Castlevania.

I don't think it has anything to do with Dracula being in the game or not. Plus, he was in HoD and AoS, through the Wraith and Soma in the bad ending, and they also specifically said Castlevania was Draculas Castle in those games. I don't think you can predict the villain based on the name of the game.
The dream reveals the reality, which conception lags behind. That is the horror of life - the terror of art.

Makes you wonder why the Japanese name of LoS is Castlevania even though the Japs don't like that.  :-X

Also, the two castles in HoD didn't belong to Dracula. This was made clear in the game.

Dawn of Sorrow was Celia's castle, Portrait of Ruin was Brauner's (i think)

It was indeed Dracula's castle in PoR, Brauner just took temporary control over it via his paintings

Am I the only one that is glad IGA is out of the picture? People complain that this is all fantasy like yet we had IGA coming up with a vampire using friggen paintings......

Bring orlox back, the one great throw back IGA did that should return!

Not you or anythin else knows that. Without IGA Konami coulda passed it off to anyone else at any given time. It coulda died just as easily as it coulda been a thriving success under someone else

I'm also glad Iga is out. He should have left after Sotn. So many chances and he pissed them away.
