Which is what Castlevania has always been like. Some light places, some dark ones. Thank god LoS isn't as grey, gloomy and depressing as many "fans" wants it to be. It's colorful in all the right places while still retaining the gothic look in most of the screens. I simply don't see how it's "less dark" than most of the other Castlevanias. It seems more mature if anything.

But this discussion is no fun.  :(

I would like to hear some new music.  :D

That is fine, if you think so. I think otherwise however. I like the gloomy side of CV, actually... I like it gloomy when it deals with Vampires... I don't want no effin glitter in CV.

Somehow it seems like he'll be Death >.> atleast that is how it would be if IGA was at the helms lol.
Let's talk about Zobek! Clearly he is an important character. Do we think he will betray us?

If you read what I wrote, I already know that there are, but if you read my post, I also stated that there are places that aren't.

If you have problems with unevenly dark games, I should recommend you Dante's Inferno. God, this game makes me feel dirty every time I play it, but Hell! The controls work like a charm =DDD

This game is so relentlessly evil that sometimes you just can't believe it.

Gameplay sucks, and excessive nudity turned me off, story blows, mini games stuff i encountered stuff... not to mention the nudity wasn't even good. You like the controls? I dont' think its the worst in the world but I can't..... use it without thinking its falwed... but that might just be my NG fanboyism perkin up.

The combo system was kind of cool though, I like the branching and such but ....... eh.... no.

See what happens when something is extremely dark?? ;) But I do like the controls (for the record, I'm a professional game designer =). You can cancel almost every attack, thus making combat very fast paced and entertaining, and the cross reminds me a lot of LoI's Holy Cross + Blue Orb.

EDIT: Holy Cross + GREEN Orb

So, all this talk of an "enchanted forest"... was this even confirmed? You make it sound like tinkerbell lives there or something. Maybe Cox used the term "enchanted forest", I honestly don't know. I just remember a few screens that shows a really cool forest, and some cave-ish path with lots or plants and symbols on the walls.

Blah, I rest my case for the time being. I'm happy about the screens, even the LotR-goblins. I mean, if the developers say this is what Castlevania looks like now, then it IS Castlevania. That article pretty much said it all. Video game fans are crazy. Maybe some of you should start a petition... "Castlevania Lords of Shadow is too bright!" or "Castlevania Lords of Shadow is too much like LotR" or "Please make every new Castlevania game exactly like *insert random old CV*. Don't change anything, not the graphics, not the levels, nothing! Just make it brand new and super original and innovative, but don't change anything mkay? Cause then it's not Castlevania, y'know! Oh, and make it pitch black too!"

:D

EDIT: I'm sorry if I sounded like a bit of a troll there. I just got carried away  :D. I'm done now. kthnxbye.

Again they are going for a more serious game. So naturally they will use mythological creatures above things that were just ridiculous in castlevania..Like TIN MAN, or Killer maids.  Yes they were original but they aren't taken seriously like things that have been in the mythological books FOR centuries.

And you don't know how tall are those pixies do you? What if they were harpy-sized? they look scary like hell (Broken black butterfly wings? count me in)

@AlucardDarkPrince: Your nick tells me a lot about you and certainly, you wish IGA was the lead and master of Cv, or someone who managed the series to the same old direction... get over it, change is here, like it or not, your prince is not coming back nor your vacumm-holding maids nor your deformed budhist deity shining in gold, this is what Cv looks now, what is NOW (by the moment) and hey, you complain about the music? seriously? only 26 secs of music? (not even a whole song) did you liked the salsa tones in OOE? Mary Samba? and you are saying this is silly? It's because of people like YOU that we still lived 12 years ago with CV until now, you only request a SOTN clone, so they gave that to you, but Cv is more than that, deserve more than that, and we, whole-time fans, who love equally AOS and Belmont's Revenge, deserve something better, wheter LOS is or is not, I don't now, but I wish it is, I wish it to be a great change ,to make the saga bigger than never before, to have great storylines that didn't include boobies, characters that I actually liked, non-goth-ayami-generic settings. Like it? no? GTFO.

@LordsofShadow: I really think Zobek is a bad guy (Rule of the videogames: If someone helps you at the begining of the adventure, gives you things, saves you from the earliest evils: He's the bad guy. Simply as that :)
However, I don't think him to be Dracula (like many people thinks it is), he's just not strong enough, however, think about this: he told Gabriel about the mask... so, he is using Gabriel to defeat the LOS and get the mask, once gabriel has the mask, he attacks him from behind, takes the mask and revives Dracula (Or the new vampire lord however). After that Gabriel must to wear Devil's mask to stop him (his power is too much), and destroys the mask (God's). Marie is hopeless but then Gabriel exchange his innocence to get her to heaven, so gabriel becomes the dark lord and his little brotther Simon has to stop him in the sequel.

TADDAAAA!!  :D

Hahaha, yeah that made me laugh too.
Ok, so tinkerbell IS in the game. I rest my case.  :-[

....hehe, just kidding. I think it looks A LOT darker than the cutesy fairys we are used to in Castlevania. So if that's what this "enchanted forest" will be like, I'm all for it  :D

Ahasverus
wtf is your problem
most of the stuff you posted doesn't even relate to the stuff i posted so i don't see how you drew ANY of those conclusions you came up with.
1.i NEVER said nor implied that i think the game is just going to fail or suck so why are you implying that towards me?
2.WTF gave you the idea i want a symphony clone? i'm a CLASSIC castlevania fan aswell as a Metrodvania fan wich is why a NEVER complained about the gameplay of CVLOS since it leaning towards one of may favs SCV4 so please actually READ wtf a post before directing anything at me ok ;)
3.who do you think you are to just come and judge people? i simply don't like certain aspects CVLOS is presenting that all it gives you no right to judge me and say BS like i want a SOTN clone and suggest that i'm not a True fan. calm the fuck down dude everyone that is defending LOS is starting to take it to far just because i simply don't like EVERY freaken aspect of LOS doesn't make me any less of a fan so YOU should GTFO seriously

Eh... no. That thing you said is not even implied in the whole game! Walter allowed Rinaldo to live close to him, but allies they are not. Rinaldo have a grudge against Walter and is not evil-aligned by any means (Walter vampirized her daughter and afterwards she proceed to kill his family, so how the heck is Rinaldo bad?).
