Gabriel wasn't an arch angel he was god's messenger angel. Michael was the arch angel and the left hand of god. You must be mistaking what was said in that van helsing movie.

There are 4 archangels mentioned in the Bible: Lucifer, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Lucifer rebelled against God because he was jealous that God put humanity above angels and he was cast down from Heaven by Michael. Hell was created and Lucifer then became known as Satan. There are 3 remaining Archangels loyal to God.

This concludes our religious studies for the day.

As for LoS...they better not make Gabriel part of the Cronqvist family. They would be convoluting the story already and thereby wouldn't be much of a reboot afterall.

The earliest reference to a system of seven archangels as a group appears to be in Enoch I (the Book of Enoch) which is not part of the Jewish Canon, where they are named as Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Raguel, Zerachiel and Remiel. While this book today is non-canonical in most Christian Churches, it was explicitly quoted in the New Testament (Letter of Jude 1:14-15) and by many of the early Church Fathers. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church to this day regards it to be canonical.

Not in the Bible there is not. The Book of Enoch dosen't count...that was deemed non-canon by the Vatican. The Bible mentions 4 Archangels, well really 3 since Lucifer was cast out. And YES, Lucifer was an Archangel...he was just the most beloved of them all, until he turned into a jealous prick and Michael kicked his ass out of heaven.

Fantastic interview. Very interesting what he said about the Vampires and the castle itself...saying it's "kind of" Castlevania. So is it Drac's castle afterall? I mean LoI wasn't Drac's castle, neither was Circle of the Moon, etc. Very curious to see what they do with the castle in LoS. One thing's for sure, judging by the one bit of artwork of the exterior, the castle is F'ING MASSIVE!
