So if there is backtracking, would we have to swap discs...?

One thing's for sure, judging by the one bit of artwork of the exterior, the castle is F'ING MASSIVE!

One of the concept arts shows spires above the clouds (this dark one with the moon in the background). So yes, even if levels inside won't be too big, the scale of the castle itself will probably be rendered in a very impressive way. :)

Also take a look at some screenshots - you can see those spires in some places in the background. Last part of the game?

Ok. How did you fit the whole game onto Xbox 360?
We’ve put it on to two discs.

Looks like I'll be buying the ps3 version, then.

I just hope they have THE staircase. If you don't know what staircase I'm talking about, you've probably never played a Castlevania game before.

Not in the Bible there is not. The Book of Enoch dosen't count...that was deemed non-canon by the Vatican. The Bible mentions 4 Archangels, well really 3 since Lucifer was cast out. And YES, Lucifer was an Archangel...he was just the most beloved of them all, until he turned into a jealous prick and Michael kicked his ass out of heaven.

It was actually emperor Constantine and the church fathers that decided what was canon, not the Vatican.
I personally don't give a rats ass what those corrupt, dust corpses decided. So I'm calling all 7 legit.
If you read the bible in it's original Aramaic form, Satan is never said to be Lucifer.
In fact 'Satan' is only mentioned in a very specific story where God has him function as a prosecutor against on of the major human characters.

BTW, where the hell does it say that Cronqvist = Hunyadi/Corvinus?

The Biblical canon stuff is worse than the Zelda timeline.

Great interview, Im glad that the game has a day and night cycle (something that I wondered since the games reveal) and somewhere in my mind I knew this game would be so huge that the 360 version will ship on two disk's.

Nice the hear that vampires wont look like brutes throughout the game.

Read the interview again. Cox said in no uncertain terms that there is a day/night cycle and weather events.

The Biblical canon stuff is worse than the Zelda timeline.

Its ironic how close that is to the truth. Due to the Christians they even have a split timeline.  :-X

I'm looking forward to that scene more than any other moment in the game.

I cannot wait to see how epic that part is going to be. Everytime I think of it I just keep hearing Simon's theme playing in the background, torches lighting up on their own the higher you climb, the full moon coming into view, and bats flying everywhere as you slowly ascend up the stair case.

So, they said they are going to reveal a few familiar Castlevania characters soon. Your predictions?

I would say Cornell, and for some strange reason I think we are going to see Sypha and perhaps Grant as well.

At first I was thinking mundane characters like the Ferryman, but I'd like to see enemies like Olrox, and will be surprised if Shaft is reimagined.

It would be nice to see Cornell once again, and Hector as well (but i don't think that it could happen).

Except Castlevania hasn't been very grim and gothic for a while. Looking at the GBA and the DS games there's very little gothic grimness to be found, if any. I'd rather have fantasy than cartoony. Besides, I don't think the game will be as fantasyesque as some would have you believe.

You just clarified my point. I DON'T want it to look like that. I want it to be grim and gothic like the old days.

And I base my opinion on how it looks on the trailers. So far the highlights of grimness have been "Dracula's" speech with a shot of the castle and those manwolf things.

I was banking on those two appearing as well. If they did I guess this would make Gabriel the new "Trevor Belmont."
