I have to agree here. Time travel is a terrible idea here. The only way they can get away with it is if it is a machine that stores the 'data' of a past time, maybe to the extent that it allows you to relive it. But it shouldn't be actual time travel. That get's too muddy, and I honestly can't see it fitting into the Castlevania universe. Yeah, Judgment and Resurrection were terrible ideas. Judgment more forgivable for a non-canon one shot fighter game story, but yeah.

Lets not forget Curse of Darkness had Saint Germain, the time traveler in the spiffy Top hat.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

The official file name for that screenshot, from Konami's PR site is.... 'Time machine'.. hmm..
Whats wrong with having a time machine?

It's not the first time Castlevania has been associated with time travel.
Too bad that was Judgment.
...and Resurrection.

I'm sure Reverie will have a better story than both. I mean, if it doesn't then uhhhhhhhhhh.
Of course it's still time travel which usually turns out to be a horrible plot device in a lot of stories but yeah.

A lot of assumptions... The DLC supposed to continue the plot after the game ending is Resurrection and not Reverie. I think Reverie takes place during Gabriel's quest at some moment after Carmilla's defeat but before the final battle against Satan, probably even before Gabriel's travel to the land of the necromancers... Time traveling?... I really doubt so, the clock device most be a new puzzle to solve during the mission... About the evil who was freed when Camilla was defeated, hmm... Can be anything, the castle was haunted before Carmilla's arrival and she suppressed the evil presence when she took the castle... Could be Frankenstain's moster but also another evil presence is possible... Doppelganger or Legion?

Personally I hope it takes place after the final battle, I feel like it would just add more significance to it all(And I can ignore the feeling that I'm paying 15 or so bucks for something that should have been in the full game). I was also thinking that reverie could take place before he travels to the land of necromancers, but doesn't Pan show up right after Carmilla's death? I would love for Gabriel to fight against Doppleganger, hell even legion would be cool too...just think how gross they could make that fight lol.

Reverie probably takes place after the battle with Satan, and Resurrection will be a follow up to the post credits ending.

I've never seen this before, just wondering if you guys had any insight or comments? I was looking at David Cox's twitter and there's a link to the concept artist's gallery of work he did for LOS. Among them was the same old stuff, but I've never seen these demons before, pretty cool. I was thinking that maybe he did it for another project hence no CV logo, but it's also the only piece of artwork not in the official game so I'm at a loss.

Same here, his work is pretty damn amazing. As for the demons...very interesting. It looks like they're about to battle eachother.

Yeah those two demons look badass, surprised that they didn't make the final cut.

You really don't like LOS huh? Is it just the plot/writing that irks you?(Obviously that's an important part of the game).

Thanks for posting this. I've looked back at my other posts and yeah, there's an alarming amount of negativity. It's mainly because I've been sick for more than a week, and LoS has been the unfair recipient of my ire.

Don't get me wrong. Despite my perhaps too angry posts, I did enjoy the game, quite a bit actually. It's mainly that there are a number of trends from modern gaming that I really, really didn't want in a Castlevania that LoS unfortunately introduced. Discoalucard (original Dungeon creator) described it pretty well, that it's a ton of little problems that add up to a lot.

It looks like Warhammer artwork of a Chaos warrior fighting a lizardman.
