Maybe Gabriel and Laura will encounter Rinaldo (who would give an new update for the Combat Cross - like the fire Whip)? And maybe Dr. Frankenstein? And his Creature? And...

Well, the boss must be something strong/powerful but not as Carmilla was, and famous in the series. The Creature could be that one.

The fire whip would be so bad ass, I was expecting the dark magic to light the combat cross on fire too.

I agree with this. Chapter 2 was waaaaay too long, it's actually the largest chapter in the game, I think.

Thirded, mainly for the notion of taking out all of the stupid Aghartha section. No, I don't care about some made-up city with random high fantasy shit in it. This is Castlevania. Gimme some vampires and dark locales plz.

In fact, just remove chapter 2 and three altogether and have you start off at the mountain fortress shortly after the hunting path.

Well, at least shorten Chapter 2 to a couple stages (like say 3 or 4). You can't just axe the Cornell boss fight. That fight was awesome.

The DLC also needs the axe and cross sub weapons. I was SO DISAPPOINTED they were not in the game, I NEED MY AXES KONAMI!!

YES! If not axe's at least bring back a boomerang type weapon, hell the move Olrok did with his swords proves that they could have done it.

instead of an ancient city, it should've been a place that is more fitting for werewolves
intense forests so that they can train their powers beyond htat of a regular werewolf

w-well, it kinda did that for a little bit, badly. then gabriel dropped down a hole and went to wonderland.

The land of the Lycans should have just been a series of forests, caves, and maybe some ruined villages that have been taken by the lycans.  Of course I wouldn't change the fight with Cornell.  I would expect a dark lord to have some sort of throne room or sanctuary.

Am I the only one who enjoyed the air of mystery surrounding Aghartha?  It's 1047 and there's an ancient city over run by werewolves from an ancient battle. That to me is a really cool setting. The only thing i dislike about that whole part is collecting the crystals and fighting the titan.

You, and Cox. That's about it probably.

High fantasy needs to get out of my Castlevania.

High fantasy is welcome to stay if it actually had a connection to the castle or Dracula himself.

You know, watching my brother play Demon's Souls, they did high fantasy stuff in a creepy and unique way. There were zombie-sounding (and looking) goblin creatures; hell, the whole of that game was a lot more Castlevania to me than LoS. Dark dungeon locales, creepy moments and - gasp! - actual use of a pipe organ. What a concept!

...holy shit you're right. LoS didn't use a pipe/church organ at all. That is...actually pretty unsettling.

It's because pipe organs were not invented yet, just like clocks  ;)

I agree. Hell, even Agharta would be good at NIGHTTIME. The caves were horrible designed though (Not the dark one, the one with the spiders).

My favourite level of the whole game is the mountain fortress, is in daylight but still classy, somewhat creepy, very well designed, terrific graphic detail and two awesome boss fights. My favourite chap.

Yeah I found it odd that the only use of pipe organs were used during the Mercurysteam logo, looks like they could have used a pipe organ sound in the game but decided not to for some reason.
