Ehhhhh I don't know... I really like Lords of Shadow.
I just wish it borrowed a little bit more from the IGA style games (mainly in the music department).... but not a lot!
Agreed.

They could've definately took more inspiration from the enemy department from IGA's games. It would've been great seeing some of the more crazier monster designs being reimagined in luscious 3D.

I hated fighting those uglyass trolls with the giant noses. Most of the enemies in LoS weren't very "imaginative."

It would be even better if they got Ayami Kojima to do enemy designs. Her stuff can be pretty abstract and gruesome at times,. It would be a well-deserved Mature rating.

Dammit! I guess Konami's a lot like Capcom. That's the same thing that happened with DmC's new Dante look. Ninja Theory wanted to use the traditional Dante, and Capcom said, "No! Go and make him look WAY different!! Make him look NEW!!". Urgh!

Konami and Capcom nowadays, with very few exceptions, are suffering the insanity-inducing side effects from massive brain hemorrhages that started back in 2004. (Well, more like 2009 in Capcom's case.)

Exactly.  I would love to see some reimagined enemies from games like SotN in 3D.

I'm all for abstract, but not gruesome.  I can't really handle gore that well (the main reason I don't watch horror movies).  Creepy and abstract is cool, but not gore.

ayami Kojima? NO thanks, LoS has the best artistic direction this gen I don't know how anyone would not like it. And the art was ACTUALLY TRANSLATED into the game, it wasn't just a fancy cover

Everything comes full circle

Sure will be cool use Recycled sprites from other Castlevanias in Lords of Shadow... I'm tired of Iga's laziness...
Why should Mercury Steam create new enemy desings when they can recyclate the 3D models from LOI, COD and LOD?... That's Iga's style...

Well I did say enemy design so obviously it would have to be translated into the game. So no, it wouldn't just be a fancy cover.

I would absolutely LOVE to see her style in a LoS-esque 3D game. Hell, I'd love to see it translated in a 2D game as well. Nothing against LoS art style, but just just look at some of the pics Thernz posted. I wonder where she gets her inspiration for stuff like that....

I feel bad for saying gruesome and deserving of a mature rating because that's not at all why I like the designs. Even though, I guess they would be. I don't think any of those have the gore Kojima sometimes puts in her work though. She's kinda like the only artist where I'm not really repulsed when she does it though.

I'm pretty sure the enemy designs are NOT by Ayami Kojima at all, but rather the person in the credits who's the "Enemy Designer".
Get that person to design stuff... then get someone to translate the designs into 3D, and THEN put 'em into the game.

Enemy designers is almost NEVER the main character designer. There's only a few exceptions(Yoshitaka Amano in the older FF games, Akira Toriyama for the Dragon Quest games and Chrono Trigger). Apart from main characters that are villains(per say, with CV, Dracula or the Succubus), Ayami Kojima didn't design the other creatures or bosses fought in the games she designed characters for.

And it was kinda a point I made a while back, but I'd love to see the classic enemies, still based on the classic designs, but only rendered in high res 3D models. Even with LoI and CoD, they basically redesigned most of the classic enemies from the ground up. I mean, I saying Fleamen that LOOK like Fleamen, not those things with knives and clevers you see in LoI and CoD. Keep some continuity through design, because sometimes when you alter the look of certain aspects too much, it's hard to believe it takes place in the same world. This was a biggie with the change from Chrono Trigger to Chrono Cross. Differnt artists, different art direction. At almost felt like a different world altogether. That's also oen of the things that bugged me about Judgement(the art style).
