They could've made sprites for his 2nd jump.  They did it for his slide and kick, why not his 2nd jump?  Or a flip or something, LAZY BUMS! xD

How long does it take to draw an 8bit Sprite Jorge?

Everything comes full circle

an 8 bit sprite takes little effort. especially when the animation only requires 1 or 2 sprites. And especially since they already have a base to work with.

Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Is it just me, or is Simon A LOT more powerful than the other Belmonts in the game? - Also, "Origins" is HARD, but I love it!!!

As far as popularity goes yes he is supposed to the strongest.

But as far as IGA castlevania canon goes Julius is supposed to be the strongest

Next would be Richter and then Juste and finally Simon.

i always thought when it said strongest, that it just meant strongest when compared to their contemporaries rather than the strongest overall.

I used to think the same thing but then I was told that the SotN manual mentions that every generation of Belmonts is stronger then the ones that came before it.  :-X

To celebrate his recent inclusion, lettuce take a look back at the various incarnations of Simon, shall we?

Simon from Vampire Killer

Simon as he appears in cv1. Not much has changed since his initial appearance

When Simon stormed the Haunted Castle, notice his strong pixel muscles

Simon in the Amiga version. Notice his outfit is a lil more detailed

weird-looking Simon from the DOS port. Look at his skirt!

Simon switches the outfit & goes for a more red approach. Fun Fact: Dave Cox apparently based Gabriel's design off this

X68000 Simon was the most detailed to date

SCIV Simon, which many consider to be the definitive Simon

Simon as Konami officially recognizes him

This sprite didn't appear in any game except as a cameo appearance in Gallery of Labyrinth

How long does it take to draw an 8bit Sprite Jorge?
A good 8-bit 3-color one that doesn't clash with the others in its set?  15 to 30 minutes and that's being generous.
That means they could've spent just a little more time getting his 2nd jump to look different than his first jump, but they didn't.  Instead he just looks like he crouches in the air.

EDIT:
It took me longer to piece together the animations into a GIF than it did to make that ONE SPRITE (the 2nd jump).
I could've even made a falling/landing sprite frame like Richter's for when he's going down, but I think I proved my point at just how Lazy Konami is (either that or they put frames and I'm just not seeing 'em, except for the slide, the Jump Kick, and Dive Kick... is there a jump kick?  I think it's just a straight down dive kick).

Well atleast it's not as painfull as watching Richters double jump...

I have to admit that the idea of the entire NES Castlevania game in one map sounded pretty cool initially but I absolutely hate how they've handled redesigning the stairs etc I would have been much happier if they'd just made a fuctional map that strongly resembled all the stages from the NES game than what they've created.

Yeah they took all the 'stairs' and turned 'em into thick hills.  Reminds me of that one homebrew where the guy asked us how to implement stairs-hills instead of regular stairs, and we had different tiles showing how it would do.

Also, look I made a new sprite and animated it.  Fun!

I think the next DLC should be based on stage 4 From Super Castlevania IV.
