Mercury Steam's Next Game

http://www.mercurysteam.com/

Any ideas what Mercury Steam's latest game might be?  There's some speculation it could be Contra, but of course, it could be something new.  With Konami not making any new console games, I'd be happy if Mercury Steam would continue making game's from Konami's history so that "somebody" is still making them.  I've put a lot of hours into playing Lords of Shadows games, so without a new 3D Castlevania coming out, I wonder if I'll just naturally want to check out whatever the heck Mercury Steam decides to put out.

Looks to me like it could be an older Bill Rizer  :) or possibly the commander from contra hard corps. Either way I would love to see what they could do with Contra. Its really a blank slate in terms of storyline; badass soldiers taking on red falcon, thats pretty much it lol. And im one of the minorities that actually liked the storyline to the LoS series to be honest. In my opinion it was a great way to explain why the Belmonts were the only (well, main ones) ones to destroy Dracula.
But enough talk, HAVE AT YOU!!!!!!!!

Mercury Steam is a very solid development studio; I think Lords of Shadow proved that beyond a doubt. Sure, they got into a bit of directorial confusion for the sequel, but they really have some amazing creative potential that I would hate to see wasted.

I'm actually really looking forward to their next project, even if it has to be Contra. With Konami's recent change of market focus, I'd rather have a genuinely good developer work on the franchise than to see it relegated to mobile spinoff status.

Still can't access the website for some stupid reason. Anybody want to make some screen grabs and post them?

In Mercurysteam is making a Contra title then I hope that both Cox and What's-his-pickle aren't there to screw it up.

Here's a related news article, it has a screen shot of the page and the only image we have so far.

I suppose we should just be grateful it isn't a pachinko game.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Whatever it is, it certainly looks like it could be a reboot of Contra. Regardless, I'll still play it. The only MS games I've played are their Castlevania games, and only one was a disappointment to me (though not necessarily a bad game, just an alright game). And so far it's a 2:1 ratio, so why not.

It's the exact opposite I'm done with MS. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice than shame on ... no ... screw you MS.  >:( For a year I tried to think Los 2 was good. Oh lord the denial.

if it's a Contra game, maybe we'll get a Lords of Shadow Belmont boss cameo like the Belmont cameo in Contra Hard Corps?

I see this being a good opportunity for MercurySteam. I hope some restructuring went amongst the team after LOS2's fallout and that we have a better team working on this title. Could be a good chance for them to prove themselves again.

Or we might talk about how good LOS2 is in comparison after its release.

Cox is out of Konami, for sure. I don't recall any source saying that Konami iced their relationship with MS. Soured, likely, but not totally kaput.
