That screenshots looks pretty sweet.
Somehow you can already tell they've put a little more effort into this than PoR... or actually, you can't really tell that yet, but one can hope!

That's actually what it reminded me of, too. Vagrant Story had an awesome atmosphere. Now let's hope that this level of detail is everywhere in the game, and not just in the first few areas *coughDawnofSorrowahem*.

Don;t forget... this game has gotten a lot more time than most of the others.  They were well into developement before DXC was released.  Remember DXC was almost all outsourcing, not the actual Cv team.  So it does seem from this screen, and what we've heard that this might be what we've been waiting for, if only because they've had more time.

The details in the cascading leaves is just gorgeous. What a sense of mood and place! I can make out every fucking leaf! That's impressive.

I can only hope the rest of these ambitous 20 areas receive the same amount of love. That's gonna be difficult.

Hopefully that isn't just some really cool splash screen at the start of the game or something. Even then, every little bit of outstanding artistry outshining the crap that mostly filled POR, helps.

The snow area in DoS was impressive as well, but my interest doesn't lie within the backgrounds of these games; it's the enemies & difficulty/strategy I'm looking forward to.

Here's hoping that this game goes out with a bang. Third time's a charm..

Wow. Some of those shots (the leafy town arch, the hill with the boulder, the character portrait of the old man) look really good. I'm starting to think this game might just have the upgrade in design and graphical quality I've been waiting for on the DS.
Now if we can just get a glimpse of that video.
If I forgot "everything I knew about Castlevania" I certainly wouldn't be excited about a new one coming out now would I?

Whoever the artist is... I LOVE it.  It's like Kojima's but better quality, and more realism.  I would be happy if this person became the series artist.

I love the art, too. I wouldn't say it's better than Kojima-san's, but it's just about as good.

Shanoa looks great in that splash page. Beautiful and mysterious, with a hint of anger in her eyes.

The weird thing is, the spacing of the eyes is very similar to Ayami's style.

Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if A.K's doing promotional art again.

Shanoa's looking almost Simon-badass.

So much detail put on such a small screen. This game is looking better with every screenshot I see. Can't wait for a video!

The artist is supposedly someone named Masaki; Igarashi has said Kojima's style isn't right for the DS audience.  (Which is weird, since the new artist's style is so similar to hers.)  This comes from someone who has the issue.
