I just thought of something, and apologies if this has been brought up earlier

There are a few elements i've seen of this game that really make me hope that the bonus playthrough (assuming there is one, and we know there will be) is Contra-style

Obviously, Albus wields a gun, and as one part in the video showed, it's a gun that certainly packs a kick

So why not have a one-hit-and-you're-dead Contra style bonus playthrough? Instead of Glyphs, he could absorb different gun powerups from enemies

We obviously don't know where the story will go, but it's a thought, and I like to think, a pretty good one

I just thought of something while perusing this thread.

Didn't IGA say a few years ago he was totally against the idea of a main female protagonist, side characters, well, aside??

Yes he did, but he's giving in to the "overwhelming fan outcry" about a want for a female lead.

Also he keeps underlining the fact that this new character designer gets more inspired when working on female characters.

As a character designer myself, I can understand this

"Observe their fates and learn well."

Well if he's giving into the never-ending bleeting sheep that are the fans, then it's obvious he's not gonna put a lot of work into Shanoa if he never really wanted to. Sure, the character designer will be more inspired to put a lot of detail into her, but beauty is only skin-deep in the CV world, unfortunately.

Well, I recall something about the "vampire mythos" being why he didn't really want a female character as the lead. Maybe he's changed his mind aboot that? :D;;

I don't get why he thinks dracula has to be in EVERY game. Hopefully he's changed his mind about that so we can see what the belmonts are doing between the 11th and 15th centuries.

I guess he feels he needs to have Dracula in every game because of the japanese name "Akumajo Dracula". Though he could always name some of the games "Castlevania" though, even in Japan. Like he did with Lament. That'd take care of the problem.

Dunno, but I think the castle itself is much more important than Drac. And even if he's not around, the Castle still is the "Demon Castle Dracula". It could appear even if Dracula is not revived. Just his powers have to. Like in AoS.

And I cannot but think that Chanoix will be of a very manly nature. The way she looks on the artworks is a little cold-hearted and always strong. Also the way she says "Now's the time of your demise!" (I am SO going to switch to japanese dub) seems very rough and un-feminine. I just can't imagine her getting pissed if someone makes fun of her like Charlotte, or being all thoughtful about a guy like Yoko did with Julius.
And I can't say that'd be a bad thing. A chick like one of those two as a main character would be horrifying.

Yeah, but there's another solution to the 11th-15th century time period. Why not have Mathias as the lead for most it, thus including Dracula, but also have certain Belmonts playable as well. I would say make it sort of like Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, not in terms of Gamepley, but certain characters become playable as the game goes on.

Because, according to the epilogue of LoI, Mathias became a hermit of sorts and went into hiding until the 1400s when the next Belmont faced him (Sonia/Trevor, your flavor of canon may vary)

That epilogue kinda fucked the chance of Dracula showing up in those other 3 centuries. Of course, knowing IGA, he'll find some way to retcon that.

Sounds good but who would serve as the main villian?

Bob, from accounting.  :P

mathias did grow in power with his crimson stone though. it'd be possible that at one point he was going around the europe, killing other vampires, absorbing their souls for power and forcing others like olrox or carmilla into life of servitude for him.
