I played all three and love all of them.

Melee is my favorite, but the original is really good too. Brawl was a huge disappointment for me, because it was nothing compared to Melee.

That's what I've heard, I played Brawl with the mote for a couple rounds and really found it akward and hard to use, I'm sure the classic controller is better though.

No, the classic controller sucks too, just because the button configuration gets so screwed up. You're used to playing Smash Bros with a Gamecube or N64 controller, then they give you that and you're confused as hell. At least, that's my opinion. Others may be more comfortable with a classic controller. Of course, it's irrelivent to me, considering I got bored with Brawl after about 10 hours and went straight back to playing Melee, which I find much more ammusing.

If you use the Gamecube-Pad it's the same as Melee. So where is the fucking problem? O_o

Oh what a compelling argument.. I dont like to do more than use my fingers... geez

I don't really think flinging the remote while simultaneously mashing a button makes for a compelling experiance.

I know, there is no problem, I'm just saying, those controllers are annoying to use. I like Brawl, just not nearly as much as Melee and the original N64 Smash Bros.

I'm sorry this argument makes no sense whatsoever. Brawl has just about EVERYTHING that Melee had, and yet it adds so much more. How can you call a TOTAL UPGRADE to Melee the more boring of the two?

Explain what you think is boring. I mean the only thing that was taken out were a few trophies, and all the important past stages are there. Then you have all the brand new ones which take interactivity to the next level. Oh yeah, you can also make your own.

And yeah I don't care if this is off-topic: I'm trying to forget that Judgement even exists.

And no, Alexc, it is not that easy to implement online... or well anyway. It requires extensive testing and tweaking.

Settle down, guys.

Online is a difficult thing, and it's possibly more difficult in 3D (and even more so a game had more than two people participating).

With 2D Fighting games you have the benefit of just tracking where the frames are, but with 3D Fighting games (even if they're in 2D) you can't apply Latency the same way as you can with, say, FPS games.

It's the reason Brawl lags so terribly; it is trying to be fair and record every frame, rather than do what some latency-driven games do and give the benefit to people on freakin' Dial-Up or something.  That would be terrible.

But yeah Online Play on a fighting game can be very difficult.  I'm glad the people on Kawaks have managed to make it work but that's taken a constant effort for quite a few years to get juuuuust right, and it still is not 100% there.

To be fair to Brawl online, there IS a lot of crap going on onscreen at once. Usually much more than any normal fighting game.

Then again... it's also using less polygons.

Awesome, I've always dreamed of a game like this.  Now I have a reason to get a Wii.   ;D
