Thanks for posting that!
Hmmm... could this possibly be sandbox then? I can't imagine it being a proper sandbox game where you can go anywhere anytime, but it may be borrowing bits from that particular genre... There must be actual levels, or else the game will end up like... dunno... Assassin's Creed?

Yes, I thought about  Assasins Creed or Fable, something like that. I wonder, how will they manage the day/night cycle in such a sandbox concept? I mean, it could mess the whole dramatic stuff (Imagine, fight Dracula at 12m... arghhh)

Sandbox doesnt mean everythings open from "New Game" SoTN could just as easily be described as a 2d sandbox game and you cant go every in it as soon as Alucard runs thru the front gate

Only two days to go , before the GamesCon. I only wonder if we will learn anything new from day one or we will have to wait 1 - 2 days. I hope for a new trailer with more game play footage and some more info about the mechanics of the game.

As long as it shows new game play footage, i don't care about the language. I only hope that it will be a new trailer and not the E3.

This is a part of Kotaku Coverage where it's only about Castlevania: LoS.

4:55 McWhertor:  Kojima's about to talk about Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but he passes the mic to producer Dave Cox
4:56 McWhertor:  "Masks play a very important role in the new Castlevania" says Cox
4:56 McWhertor:  He's going to reveal some new aspects of the game, he says.
4:57 McWhertor:  The game has to be accessible to everyone, even someone who has never played a Castlevania game before, Cox says
4:57 McWhertor:  It also needs to have high production values, he says
4:57 McWhertor:  If you like whipping vampires and werewolves, this is definitely the game for you.
4:58 McWhertor:  "This isn't a rehash, this is a rebirth," Cox says, namechecking Mercury Steam studios, the developer of Lords of Shadow.
4:58 McWhertor:  "Having Hideo Kojima as your boss means you damn well better deliver."
4:58 McWhertor:  Cox says the team is being very respectful of fans of the classic Castlevania games
4:59 McWhertor:  He's showing us a "new, extended" trailer
4:59 McWhertor:  We see Gabriel, our whip-bearing hero standing in the rain
4:59 McWhertor:  He's directed to the forest by a commoner bearing a pitchfork.
5:00 McWhertor:  Here comes the Patrick Stewart voice over!
5:00 McWhertor:  "These are dark times, time without hope."
5:01 McWhertor:  We're getting a rundown of the voice cast, Robert Carlysle, Patrick Stewart, then getting into a mix of gameplay and pre-rendered visuals.
5:01 McWhertor:  There's lots of whipping, repelling with a whip, attacks from giant spiders, golems, succubi....
5:02 McWhertor:  "The mask is a powerful device" says a voice
5:02 McWhertor:  "Can it really bring the dead back?" asks another
5:02 McWhertor:  "You monkeys don't deserve redemption," says a third... that dialogue certainly seems to fit in with the series
5:03 McWhertor:  "Revenge. 2010."
5:03 McWhertor:  That looks to wrap up the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow presentation, but Hitman returns to interview David Cox
5:04 McWhertor:  Cox says he realizes the huge reponsibility of reinventing Castlevania, something that lead to a lot of sleepless nights.
5:04 McWhertor:  We're moving on to PES, which has "better gameplay, better graphics" according to Hitman

FYI, Hitman is Kotaku's host Thomas Sauermann.

Can't see a video up yet on the main sites.

IGN writes:

Konami's famous director then introduced Dave Cox, producer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. "A few months ago at the E3 show, we introduced a new Castlevania for Xbox 360 and PS3. Today we want to part the curtain a little bit more and reveal some new things about the game," he said. Cox continued that this new game needed to be accessible to everyone; sport very high production standards; and it had to honor what had come before, "but not be a slave to it." According to the producer, the title exists on its own and as such players will not need to have played any other version of Castlevania to understand it. Lords of Shadow will of course feature some trademarks of the franchise, like using the classic whip and fighting vampires and werewolves. At the same time, the project will deliver something new.

"I can assure you we are being very respectable of what has gone before. Without giving anything away, this game is a true love letter to the classic Castlevania games that i grew up with," said Cox and debuted a new, extended trailer.

Patrick Stewart provides voiceover for the storyline. "What motivates a man to confront the challenges that most of us would run from? It is written that a pure-hearted warrior will claim the power of the Lords of Shadow as his own." The game follows Gabriel on a quest for redemption. He can be seen swinging through environments with his whip, battling a giant monstrosity in the sow, platforming Prince of Persia style, squaring off against a huge spider, and generally beating the hell out of enemies. The game looks fantastic and the narrative seems intriguing.

Love the gameplay parts, there is something unique about it, I don't have the feeling that I'm watching a Devil May Cry clone.

The music is awesome.

I agree, it does look to have its own feel.  The main character Gabriel goes a long for me in making this feel Castlevania, although they've added some darker environments this time around, including a close-up of the cathedral/castle.

There looks to be a wealth of platforming in the game and the whip is a major player.  Looks like those orbs are used to either swing from or to climb up.  No sign of QTE.
