before they announced that it was a Castlevania game, they mentioned that LoS was a"dark fairy tail".  I wonder how much of that will hold true in the final product.  well, we have the big bad wolf covered, as well as trolls, and pixies.

oh, and ha about Tinkerbell.  I named one of my Fairy-Type innocent devils Tinkerbell a few weeks ago (which I am sure many of you did too).

Back on the topic of Zobek, I think he is going to turn heel at the end of the game when Dracula is out of the picture and steal the devil mask with the help of other members of the brotherhood. Then at the end he reveals his true intentions to Gabriel and retreats to a world called The "Realm of shadows" and does a 2 minute monolougue as he desends into darkness, then Gabriel swears revenge on Zobek and the credits roll.

Then after the credits we see the ruins of Dracula's castle and a bat fly's down and takes a human form but you can't see who it is and then you hear him say the word "Father."

Eh... no. That thing you said is not even implied in the whole game! Walter allowed Rinaldo to live close to him, but allies they are not. Rinaldo have a grudge against Walter and is not evil-aligned by any means (Walter vampirized her daughter and afterwards she proceed to kill his family, so how the heck is Rinaldo bad?).
I really didn't played LOI, I watched the whole thing at youtube, sorry :P But here's the man there: Mathias! He told leon about the kidnapping of sarah and that stuff, he was the diguised bad guy  in there, som there's no broken rule in there :)

Yeah I remember that, but I don't really think it's how it's turnning out to be, fairies haven't been touched upon interviews. However, I think that all that "fairytale" stuff was related to the kind of european mythology with fairies, orcs withces and all that stuff. Most of fairytales are based upon european myths and legends ;)

@Kenshango: did You have to put Alucard in the game?  :'(
Now I fear someone thought that was a good idea.

About Zobek: I'm almost sure that the brotherhood is evil :)

Well im no M Night Shyamalan so I couldn't make up a better plot twist.

And yeah I do think that the brotherhood is two faced.

Thanks God you are not Shyamalan , thanks God no one is Shyamalan, that guy is a mess, and his stories are a (bad) mess :P

About the brotherhood, I mean, "Brotherhood of Light", too good to be true, perhaps is the kind of "We'll bring light back to the world, humans are the darkness that invades the world so our lord *insert vampire lord name here* will murder all humans to bring the heaven to us!" stuff. Cliche but always good ;)

If i recall Alucard could summon a fairy/pixie (same thing to me, just a lil chick with wings) in Symphony of the night so pixies and other D&Dish creatures aren't going to bother me personally. Also i was reading there was someone pissed or something ( I dont feel like going back to read it all) about an enchanted forest being in the game, well if you think about all of Dracula's forests in every game is "enchanted" and Walter's forest was.

See what happens when something is extremely dark?? ;) But I do like the controls (for the record, I'm a professional game designer =). You can cancel almost every attack, thus making combat very fast paced and entertaining, and the cross reminds me a lot of LoI's Holy Cross + Blue Orb.

EDIT: Holy Cross + GREEN Orb

I don't think it was because it's extremely dark, just badly done. Ambiance shouldn't affect how good a game is, unless you suck at diong a certain ambiance, which is evident imo for that game.

Can't remember LoI.... not very well anyway.

that was me that mentioned the enchanted forest but in no way was a pissed about anything. i simply pointed out that it didn't belong in CVLOS "or any" castlevania for that matter.
dracula's forests have NEVER been "enchanted" or High Fantasy inspired.
its been cursed
its been haunted
but NEVER "enchanted" or High Fantasy inspired
judgeing by how you had the nerve to even compare wut i was talking about to the previous obvious "DARK FANTASY" forests then look here

now if you could even show me 1 forest in the history of CV that is even nearly as high fantasy as this i'll agree to disagree otherwise i'd advice you to know wut your saying in the future

For what it's worth, I agree with you DarkPrinceAlucard.  You're right  There is a high fantasy feel to most of what we've seen thus far (I would go over and above that one screenshot).  Cox and Konami have even fairly recently revealed enemy designs which have underscored this perception.

Where I do disagree though is that it doesn't belong in Lords of Shadows.

You've simply got to remember this is a different take on Castlevania.

Of course, that doesn't mean you have to like it.  It's throwing some fans' toys out of the pram.  I certainly hope and believe there is a darker tone set as the adventure progresses (and I believe it will).

So... what?, yeah it0s different, yeah, hasn't been done before, but i that bad? we don't know.
Certainly, I do preffer a good game with excellent gameplay with a high fantasy setting than a bad game with gothic setting (Judgment anyone?), I mean, it's only STETHICS, what's the deal? Portrait was very colorful and no one said anything, Circle of the moon was very cartoonish and no one said anything, god, SOTN was very romanic (A step besides the REAL gothic setting in the Classicvanias) with orgasm-faced characters, no one said anything. So don't come here and say that because you have now LOTR orcs and not dark gothic motorcycle skeletons the game will suck, that's just... silly.
And BTW, we all have seen the dark enviroments in some screens and video shots, and if you read Cox twitter, he told (To me  ;D) that the lastest screenshots (So I think also the trailer) were taken from the BEGGINING of the game, so yeah, it starts shiny and becomes dark and gloomy, that's logical, and is a new dramatic tool, very good indeed.
