It's great that Cox addressed the critisize! He pretty much said what I wanted to hear!  :)

And it's great that IGA's got more CV projects in store! Hopefully they are REAL CV games, not CV-themed games. I don't want to see Castlevania Party or CV Racing! To hear that he's interested in 3DS has me thinking that a 1999 CV, with what 3DS could do, would be BEAUTIFUL! Please let this happen.

But yeah, that interview confirmed both things I was wondering about since the LoS demo reaction and IGA's presentation at the press confernece.

You can only make one first impression.

True. But you also don't want to blow your load prematurely..

The demo actually reminded me of the demo of Arkham Asylum. It wasn't too impressive and I  thought you would be doing the same things over and over again, but the game was solid and would give it a chance. Then I got the full game and was blown away by it(and many others as well), Im expecting the same outcome to happen with Lords of Shadow, this game will be this years "Arkham Asylum"

Please. Arkham Asylum's demo was linear, truncated, and definitely not representative of the game as a whole.

Did it ruin the experience? I'd have to be retarded to say it did.

All I know is I'd be more excited about the game at this point if they just released the new trailer and not the demo.

Disregarding everything else...does it slightly bother anyone else that this game has fixed camera angles and not a 3D camera? I sometimes feel a bit removed from the action when it's fixed.

Fixed camera angles dont bother me that much and it helps reduce screen tearing which I absolutly HATE. But I would have loved to see camera control to see all the splendor.

Plus with a fixed camera angle, you can count on this game having "2D like" moments (disolving bridge anyone)

There was one point in the demo when a warg rushed me, and ran right off the bottom of the screen.  I wasn't going to run down at him to move the camera.  Just had to wait for him to run back into the view of the camera.

I guess it's just another feature inherited from GoW.  It allows them to concentrate more on the environments that are in front of the camera.  If they know a certain angle is never going to be visible, they don't have to waste time modeling any environment there.

I agree. Can be done right, and lets the devs make the areas that ARE viewable, look great. Sorry to say, but GoW3 had some really cool camera angles, both cinematic, and cool 2D style..

Just thought I'd point out that the trailer is on Konami's official E3 site now.

I like the complaining about the game looking linear.  Its a DEMO!!! Not the full game.  Also love the complaints about the talking magical horse.  Giant wolf monsters, vampires and other undead creatures, flying bodiless medusa heads, skeletons, necromancy, and people who can turn into mist are fine, but not talking animals.  Magic, why would that be in a Castlevania game?

A little linear-ness is fine with me.  Its good when used in moderation.  This is a story, it should progress within some kind of order.  Its kinda how you prevent players from getting to an area or a boss too soon cuz you might not be strong enough or have the right equipment to prevent being horribly murdered.

My only concern is whether you can lock onto enemies or not.

Doesn't mean people can't complain and be concerned the whole game will look like that. And since magic is part of Castlevania I can't wait to see Choo Choo Charlie make his grand debut in this game.

At this point, I'm no longer worried about whether I'll like the game or not, but rather about how the gaming public will perceive it. I'm hoping it's not written off as just another game in an overabundant field of "God of War clones," thus having its sales suffer as a result. I keep thinking this will be Konami's last big push for the franchise, and I fear that the series will never receive their proper attention or funding (assuming it'll still be around) if it doesn't make them a significant amount of money.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Well, here's my take on the game so far:

1- It's fair enough to say ( Thank you Konami for taking Castlevania series so seriously this time after burying it for the last +10 years "since the SOTN chronicles" ). MS is doing it right in terms of cinematic scenes especially when it comes to Castlevania gothic atmosphere.

2- The music. I didn't like it. It's not like it's not good, but I don't feel like I'm into it. Maybe it's related to the bad editing of the trailer because whoever made that one (imo) is in need to review his work again because It can be better... I think.

3- Having the fact that MS is a western developer and we shouldn't expect anything simmilar to Ayami Kojima's work, I like the whole designing process and have nothing to say about it. The game look like a movie to me which is a dream coming true.Bravo!

4- Gabriel looks so bad ass especially when he arrives at the village wielding the cross combat. Now this is a belmont.

5- In terms of Gameplay and as most of you stated here, We hate the box-shaped rooms combat and we don't expect to experience that a lot in the game. Well we know it's a demo and a demo can't do any justice to the game. However, we experienced MS's demo in the past ( Jericho ) and we pray to God not to have the same conclusion ( that game sucks ). The combat is so similar to GOW and there's no shame at that due to the fact both characters weild similar weapons ( Whip/Blades ).

6- I like GodsmacK. Saints and Sinners seem to be my favorite one. I've no idea why I'm telling you this but you're still reading it, aren't you ? lolz

Hey there. Enric Alvarez here. First of all thank you very much for your support to the game. Of course we understand and accept it is impossible everybody is happy with it, but looks like the majority of you are fine with what we're doing, which makes us happy ;D  Just wanted to comment on a couple of things:
1.-  The demo is just the tutorial of the game. A very, very small part of the whole adventure. If I were you I wouldn't be much worried about box-shaped rooms as you say  ;).
2.- We are a bit tired of the "Jericho issue", frankly speaking. It is fair people judge us by that, but if you have a bit of patience and confidence we are going to redeem ourselves with Castlevania Lords of Shadow  ;D That is a promise.

Cheers!
