Hey there. Enric Alvarez here. First of all thank you very much for your support to the game. Of course we understand and accept it is impossible everybody is happy with it, but looks like the majority of you are fine with what we're doing, which makes us happy ;D  Just wanted to comment on a couple of things:
1.-  The demo is just the tutorial of the game. A very, very small part of the whole adventure. If I were you I wouldn't be much worried about box-shaped rooms as you say  ;).
2.- We are a bit tired of the "Jericho issue", frankly speaking. It is fair people judge us by that, but if you have a bit of patience and confidence we are going to redeem ourselves with Castlevania Lords of Shadow  ;D That is a promise.

Cheers!

It's an honor to have you here in the dungeon Mr. Alvarez and I'm so confident that MS will take the series to a new level where every Castlevania fan has ever dreamed of. As you stated above, the demo is a tiny part of the game and we must not worry about the final product.

And to prove my support to the game ( well, beside buying the game ) , I'm making Castlevania : Lords of Shadow commercial and if I were you, I wouldn't worry about that too lolz. ;)

Take a look at this one I made 3 years ago for PS3. Mr. Cox has already expressed his appreciation to my work.

first of all, hello everyone :)
I've been following your forums for a long time but i never decided to get in cause my english level sux a bit, but ater 2 days seen new trailer and gameplay of Los i feel i need to say something hehe.
Im fan of castlevania long time ago, 1st game of franchise i played was simon quest but i enjoy all of them even 3d ones. im able to say there not HQ games but 64 one,in my opinion.
I dunno if its for my age or something but this new gen years i lost my "feelings" about the games but few exceptions like lost odyssey that made me burst my eyes for week infront of my tv and some remakes of old games for psp ect.But this is the first time i know what "hyped means" all i see of this game smells me good, really good.I am not a fan of hack'n slash the only one who liked me was bayonetta.and i dnt care comparations with gow,i just want to play it so bad.althrough i think shadow of the colussus inspiration is really good think cause that game was a masterpiece and is one of the best mirrors to look at.

Finally i want to say some thing to Enric seeing he is in this thread and i have the chance.Im spaniard, from Madrid.I could never imagine a game of my favourite franchise will made near my home and for an spanish team. im really proud of all of you,and all are u doing so far,in this title and in others you worked before.I never played jericho but i loved Blade.
Just i want to wish you the best luck and a big success for this Castlevania and made us be more proud if its possible :).keep it on.

Everyone please forgive me for my english,i think from now you will read it more often hehe. o/

You know... I'm still surprised by the werewolf riding warg thing... cuz seriously, from the first pic, it just looks like the warg is jumping and happen to have a snapshot at that part of the arc of the jump.

Guys... I think I have some news for you...
There's  a new interview in this web http://www.levelup.com/articulos/9473/Castlevania-renace/ and there's an interesting bit

I will admit, everyone seemed to love this trailer but I don't think it has the impact the original trailer had.

I found the first trailer far better done, with a much more grand feel.

This one just seems like a montage of footage.

I am more worried about this game now after seeing the new trailer. I was expecting it to have a more Castlevania look, but I don't think  it did. I'm still excited for it and I have high expectations, but I need to see something from older Castlevania titles for me to feel better about it
What a horrible night to have a curse!

Why do people wanna see lots of stuff from the old Castlevanias anyway? Does that make or break the game? The old Castlevanias are exactly that - old. This is 2010. You basically want to play the old Castlevanias, not a new one? So what's stopping you?

So lemme get this straight; If LoS has Dracula in it it's automatically awesome? But if the villain is someone new, it sucks? If it has a zombies, it's great, but if not it sucks? Does it really boil down to things like that? And people think Gabriel swings his whip like Kratos. How else should he swing the whip? I don't understand. How many different ways can you swing a whip? Please help me understand what you people mean cause I'm lost here.

Yeah, old CV's are OLD, yeah, nostalgic things are always welcome, but, WTF ARE OU TALKING ABOUT!!
It has
1- Carmilla
2- Laura
3- Reference to blody tears
4- F***ng Cornell!!
5- The Vammpire Killer Song
6- 99% confirmed Dracula
7- Clock Tower
8- Death
With all those past things, IGA would have made 7 games, we have them here, in 1 awesome majestic game. Are you crazy people??

Look at this for the sake of God, how can't you have some kind of faith and charm?  :(

So why does Cox now downright state that Dracula is in the game when first we weren't supposed to know? Seriously

what

And I have no idea what you are talking about Ahversus. Cornell is not in this game. Just a guy with the same name.

That's the weird thing about that interview, I'm still cautius, however, based on the mistery, and that interview, and some hints in twitter ("Die monster" anyone?) it's hard not to believe that the throne lord wasn't Dracula, not the old Dracula, just like Cornell is not the old Cornell, but hey, who cares? We haven't had character development after all, it's hard tyo care about them :P

The map thing in LoS bothers me. It just adds to my feeling that the game areas aren't connected together. Also, if it's so focused on exploration, I don't see why they're cutting out the going to and fro. I guess that's similar to Super CVIV or something, but this is 2010, heh. And since they're flaunting all those landscapes, you'd expect them to flesh that out with a fully explorable world.

Can you name the parts in OoE that has different styles? I don't remember anything that seems too different from each other.
Well, look at the Village. The buildings are mostly non-pixel art in aesthetic, but go inside and look, it's the DoS village tiles which are obviously pixel art! Misty Forest Path has blending and non-pixeled backgrounds, but look at the swamp and it uses ground tiles from PoR and stylistically different trees. Considering enemies, there's a really embarrassing difference between
http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/castlevaniaorderofecclesia/madbutcher_icon.png
http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/castlevaniaorderofecclesia/sheet/19229
The color tones, the shading, it's completely different between those two. Hell, look at how much more colors the Butcher uses along with the contrast between colors. There's even a shift in hues as the colors get darker. Actually the hue shift is big enough that it's a stylistic difference from the SoTN sprites. The Formor is flat in comparison and it has an outline. You don't put outlines on some sprites but not on others. The most hilarious thing is that they originated from the same game. Oh and there's the fact that the Formor is just horribly sprited anyway. At least it wasn't a eyesore like Goliath. There was no sense of lighting on that thing, just mostly all gradients. And the fact that it rotated revealed how horribly colored it was even more.

Also, Gabriel would never try to escape by jumping over a log, so any player who tries to do that will only sorta get the message "You're not doing this the way Gabriel would've. Go back and kill those monsters, you know you want to!" lol.
In a game, it shouldn't be about what the character would do, it's about what you as the player WANT to do.

Though I guess it's hard to not have them if you want stylish combat, dunno...
Haha, I don't really want a 3D Castlevania to have stylish combat. Those HOT ENERGY SWIPES coming from Gabriel's cross just put me off. I personally want something more visceral than magic swoops and swings, especially when the game is purporting a grim atmosphere.
It's like...
I'm in a dark forest.
Suddenly, shiny and flashy lights!
Personally ruined the mood for me in that rainy tutorial stage. I would actually prefer it if it was portrayed as dully as the standard whip in LoI, besides the whole "I can stand in the air" combos. The hell was with that.
